Don't really like cases like this, nothing ever seams to fit right. Also remember the power button may be hard to access on some cases. Have this problem with a car mount that I use. I now use WidgetLocker which enables the volume as a power button.

I'm getting this one. I'm *hoping* that it'll fit the keyboard too, though it'll have to be slightly diagonal I think. If the keyboard doesn't fit at all, I'll return that one and get the same thing but the 10.1" netbook size.

Amazon.com: Caselogic VNA210 10.2-Inch Netbook/iPad Attache (Black): Electronics
I need something to house the keyboard also so I may go with the above. Currently I have an old portable DVD carry case I had lying around to transport

The keyboard is 12 inches by 5 inches so keep this in mind. I'm going with a 14 inch case logic which is like the one vzw sells.

Going on a trip and will be taking Xoom in a carry on. Wanted something hard, but as it will be residing inside another bag, settled on something more form fitting. Checked out Target, Best Buy and Staples and every one I tried (10+) was way too loose. This is the one I choose, for its snug fit. Even has hidden retractable handles for later solo use:
Targus Crave Slipcase for Apple iPad 16GB, 32GB, 64GB WiFi and WiFi + 3G, iPad 2 TSS177US (Black):Amazon:Electronics

It was at the Staples btw.

I was just in Best Buy trying to solve this problem of a snug fit sleeve. I was trying to keep minimalistic and I ended up with some New York Jets one for net books that actually fits amazingly. So if you see the sports or college ones at your local Best Buy, you might want to check it out. My store had it by the registers. Only $25

Yeah that one is like .5" shorter than the keyboard so I *think8 it's fit if it's just slightly diagonal. there's a bigger size, too. I haven't actually got the keyboard yet, waiting til payday.

how much space is left at the top of the case when u put the xoom in? i feel like most of these are made for the ipad, and its ridiculous square like dimensions.

I got this: Amazon.com: CaseCrown Fashion Neoprene Case with Handle and Hard Stand (Grey) for Motorola Xoom: Electronics
and while the width is close enough, there is like 2.5 inches of space above for the xoom to flop around in, which id like to eliminate.

i have a bag to carry the xoom/keyboard and stylii in now. its one of those bags posted above.

the incase is designed for 10.2 inch notebooks. the incase is a near custom fit. does not flop around and has room up top so the ziper does not mess up the top. i have the xoom in the silicon case and it stil has room around the sides.

Does the Incase 10.2 carry both the Xoom and KB at the same time?

no sir! its just big enough for the xoom. youd have to get a bag.

this is what i picked up:

it fits the keyboard, stylii, charger, evo in the ballistic case, my first gen ipod touch (hush it!) usb cord, cleaning cloth PLUS it includes a cig and house charger. those items dont charge the xoom but they can be used as spares for your handset.

the xoom also fits in the incase and both will fit in the padded slot in this bag. very worthwhile purchase...

I just picked this one up at Best Buy...it was on sale for $24.99.
The Xoom with the Motorola silicone case fits in it nice and snug.
I really liked that it had handles and a small pocket.

further, when the xoom is propped up, it allows for you to be able to pop in the power plug. it raises the bottom of the tablet up whilst in the case.

initial comments:

the magnetic parts on the portfolio are not of much use, at least on the model i have. there is no snap with it like you normally see. i would appreciate others' comments on this as they receive. i could have a defective version. it closes like a book just fine and it does not flap around.

be sure and loosen the flap so it sits nicely when the xoom is in "display" mode..

not much to it. no directions came with it and they ship usps priority.

thanks for the pictures. i am mainly looking for a something to carry the xoom in not necessarly use the xoom while in it and that case looked the best out of what is available (the moto portfolio case is horrible) in a portfolio style.

you said it closes like a book, does that mean no way to keep it closed?

don't suppose we could get you to take a pic of it all closed up? :-)

It does say that it has a magnetic closure. Can you confirm this?

so it does have two magnets up top at the ends. the attraction thru the leather is preventing the magnets from "snapping shut" like you see on coventional portfolios.

i corrected myself. and if you go to the site i think they have a photo of it closed.

funny you mention this. I noticed that smell too. I love it... it smells just like when I get a new pair of leather Timberlands.

I bought the one from VZW on launch day. I like it but I hate how it leaves 3 smudge lines across my screen. Does anyone know if the ones listed leave the same type of marks on their Xoom screen?

Smudge on the screen? I doubt any of these do, they don't look like they are wrapped tightly against the screen.

I got that case on EBay and I love it! I use Kindle a lot while i'm commuting on the bus to/from work and that case fits perfectly and works like a book cover. Has a nice feel to it. For some it might be pricey but think about what you're covering - you want something that's going to protect your Xoom!

This is seller I got it from on EBay - I ordered/paid on Monday and had it in my hands on Thursday (and no, I'm not related or affiliated with him in any way):

My case arrived today. I like it, but I feel that the Xoom doesn't fit perfectly into it and there is a lot more wiggle room than shown in the display photo from the website. The Xoom slides down too much into the case.

Here is a photo of my Xoom in its case:

What is keeping your Xoom fit into the case nicely? Mine keeps sliding down. What holds the Xoom up?

This seems to be a leather version of the nice looking Moto portfolio case:
PDair Motorola XOOM Leather Case - Book Type (Black) Ver.2

Too expensive for me though. But it does not cost anything to look at it and admire it.

I have not seen a case a **really** like yet. I would absolutely love the one I posted above, but would only want to pay about $50 for it. But I love the ability to prop up the tablet.

Other cases, are ok but just not quite what I want. The Kevikev is the closest but I still find myself less than excited. But that is probably the one I will get.

Just came across this one too:
Shop | iPad Cases (.ZooGue.)

Second product down on this page.

I cant tell if the case can be propped up at all those angles, or if they are trying to show something else. Description on this is too vague and the pictures not clear enough.

Is this the same case people originally bought and complained about because of scratching?
89448N - Motorola Xoom Black Leather Portfolio Case at Abt

i thought the original Xoom portfolio case was plastic. This one says leather.

Second product down on this page.

I cant tell if the case can be propped up at all those angles, or if they are trying to show something else. Description on this is too vague and the pictures not clear enough.
That is the case I am considering. The company seems pretty good. I checked out this review if you want to check it out....the thing looks pretty good even though this is of an iPad.

Thanks! That was very helpful. I'm definitely considering this one now.

UPDATE - Actually - I went ahead and ordered it. I found this coupon code on the web which gave me 20% off this - or $10 off. Here is the code:

ZGHENDREN26

Enjoy!

This case is pretty good for 12$, I'm using it until i get the otterbox.. It stands up very well however like everything else you have to flip it if u want to charge it because motos dumb positioning for the ports.

That looks decent. But, the eBay listing has closed. Can you provide the name and possibly an updated link?

I think this is the one I ordered through Amazon.com. Should have it by tomorrow.

I love that it's not only a portfolio and a stand, but I can also strap it to the headrest so my daughter can watch a video while rear-facing in her carseat.

Hopefully it lives up to my expectations.

Anyone see this case? I have been looking for a leather portfolio case. This seems like a good case for the money.

I'm debating on getting a case. I've got a Neoprene sleeve arriving tomorrow what will probably be slightly oversized, if use it at all (it only cost me $4.14). But, I think I'd like to get a folio style case of some sort. Something that has a cover. I'm considering the following and anything y'all can suggest.

Black Folio Leather Case Cover For Motorola Xoom Tablet | eBay A lot of people seem happy with this. My primary concern is that in the pictures that many have posted, the fit seems a bit flimsy.

Amazon.com: Navitech Black Genuine Premium Leather Flip Carry Case With Adjustable Stand For The Motorola Xoom Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb , 10.1 inch tablet (March 2011 Release ) 3G & 4G WI-FI 16 GB 32 GB 64 GB: Electronics This seems pretty similar to the one above, just cheaper.

Amazon.com: Motorola Protective Gel Case for MOTOROLA XOOM Black (Motorola Retail Packaging): Electronics Inside of Amazon.com: CaseCrown Fashion Neoprene Case with Handle and Hard Stand (Black) for Motorola XOOM WiFi / 3G Model: Electronics or Hard Book Cover Case for Motorola Xoom Tablet HSC-BK | eBay

Thoughts?

Default The Genius Case for Xoom by ZooGue

I was searching high and low for a quality case for my xoom and a friend on another site recommended the Genius Case by a company called ZooGue Products — Catalog Products — XOOM Case Genius Black Leather | ZooGue

This case is absolutely amazing. It is hand made of high quality leather with double stitching, it has a built in kickstand feature to prop the device up while watching movies or typing, and it even has a built in strap that will allow you to mount it to a headrest so your kids can watch movies in the car on trips! The company seems to get countless rave reviews all over the internet so I'm hoping that it lives up to all the hype. The price is up there a little bit at 49.99 but if you search for zoogue coupons, you will find a 20% off coupon for the ipad 2 case that works on this purchase, which drops the price down to a more palatable 44.95. And I would definately buy the zoogue over the motorola case anyday! Hopefully the moderators won't disable the link above and you can go directly to the product page.

Lol. It is a pretty nice looking case, but seriously...? And haven't you proof read your advertisements first? How does 20% off $49.99 equal $44.95? The site writes it up as a $4.99 discount which just covers the S&H.

Still, that post made for a good laugh.

Well the shipping on it was 4.99 making the order total 54.99. So after the coupon code I used it came out to 44.98 which is roughly 10 dollars off the total purchase. I found the code after doing a google search at retailmenot which lists it as a 20% off code. Not sure why you are breaking my balls lol. I'm just sharing what I ordered for mine like everyone else. Also I'm not sure what the "seriously" comment means. Perhaps you could explain it further? Maybe if I actually gave a shit about what YOU think enough, I could post the receipt from the order, along with links to the coupon code I used, etc. But since I don't, I'm not. My post is meant to help others like me who are looking for a viable xoom case solution. Although it certainly was not my intention, I'm perplexed as to why you found my post funny, in which case you should probably go and watch comedy central instead of attacking me on phandroid. And with that, and for the people who actually came to this forum to discuss cases for their xooms, I plan on posting pictures of mine with the xoom installed to give every one a sense of how the case fits, useability, etc. Overall, from the pictures at least, I think it will be a really nice, multi-function case to protect something that I just paid 600 dollars for.

Definitely not trying to bust your balls, lol. But I'd definitely be amazed if you were not a troll (figuratively speaking, of course). That was your first post and it reads like a direct advertisement, hence my statement as such in my previous post. And as far as the price goes, with the code I found, it just deducted $4.99, bringing the price after shipping to $49.99. Unless you can site another coupon code?

Like I said, I like the case, but I can't imagine I'm the only one here that would read it that way.

I didn't read it that way at all. Its clearly a 20% off coupon - pretty basic math here. I posted a similar posting with the actual coupon code above. It gives you $10 off a $50 case. Then you have to pay about $5 shipping making the total around $45.

If someone trying to save you $10 is a troll then I welcome trolls to the forum.

Alright. Fair enough. I'll man up and apologize. But I do have to say that every time I read his post (probably 5 or 6 times now), it looks like a post some being paid by the company would post. Everything from the:
  • Amazing case.
  • High quality leather with double stitching.
  • Rave reviews.
  • Comment about a coupon without a link.
  • The comment about the moderators possibly removing the link.
  • And finally the fact that it was his first post.

Anyway, as I said. If I was wrong, I'm truly sorry. Just the way I read it.

Side note: I still believe the numbers were not an issue of "simple math". He stated 20% off of $50 was $45. He never made mention if that $45 including S&H. Again, sorry that left me a bit confused.

Hey - its ok. We certainly have had some trolls on here - and its not like your troll alert logic was bogus. But at the time it was posted, the code was really for 20% (it has now been voided by the supplier according to a forum on xda) but I had used it myself to save $10 on the very same case. And I thought the case looked pretty sweet so I was happy to buy it.

Anyway - lets clink glasses and throw back a drink of whatever most pleases you and smile. My glass will be full of a deep red and luscious wine. Pass the chips will ya?
