There's now a few reviews on their Amazon page. Two 5 stars, and like six 1 stars saying they haven't received the case or shipping information and accusing the 5s of being fake.

Pretty unfortunate. It was my favorite looking of all the cases.

Has anyone tried one of the casecrown leather portfolio cases... I cant seem to find any reviews on them?

I need a case that can stand the xoom up for movies (for the kids) and this one would also allow me to use the portfolio flap to hold the Xoom from the sunroof in my car to show movies to the kids in the back see during trips...

I just cant find any reviews on it..

thanx
Danny

Awesome. Do you have a different thing to put THAT case into when you want to take extras with you (HDMI cables, keyboard, wiimote, etc)?

I'm thinking about getting a second bag for that purpose.

abso-smurfly i do.

amazon has a carry bag that has pockets for the keyboard and other smaller trinkets. it comes with other little knick knacks like a charger or cig adapter.. etc.

with this sleeve you just purchased, it will fit inside the carry bag i have.

Though it's 'faux leather' rather than real. Does look pretty nice to me, I'd probably be interested if I could see some reviews.

For grins I contacted the folks at Trident Cases the other day to see if they had plans to release a Trident case for the Motorola Xoom. Turns out that they are working on one with plans to release it sometime in May.

Now I've just gotta decide if I wait for this... or invest in an Otterbox case for my Xoom.

I REALLY hope you're referring to the Aegis series and not the Kraken series. That thing is hideous. JMHO.

Always amaze when people buy a thin/small device and put a huge case on it.

My guess is that the XOOM case will be in the Aegis series given that they released (not too long ago) an Aegis case for the NookColor.

And personally I like the Kraken series case... on my Droid X! I'm tired of freaking out every time I drop that bad boy on the floor!!!

I just got the motorola leather portfolio case. I love this thing! I always liked the concept but the rubber had too many flaws, they got it right the second time thankfully.

Wondering how big of a difference there is bw the Motorola leather and the Acase leather. Just ordered the Acase one and hopefully its a winner. Checked reviews on their similar case made for the ipad 2 and it got pretty good reviews. Fingers crossed...

Thanx to all the reviews on here, I finally got the new leather portfolio case from verizon yesterday...
definitely a nice case, slim and very professional looking which is nice in my field...
some people say the lowest angle setting sometimes slips... this seems to happen mainly if you touch the top half of the screen since that is above the pivot point, if you are using it with a keyboard you should be fine (at least thats how mine is)

another benefit for those in my boat (2 and 3yr kids), i have a bunch of movies on it and with this case, I can open it up, slide the flap into my sunroof opening and now I have a nice 10" movie player for my kids in the back seat, works perfectly....

my only concern is what the clips are made from and if they will stay as sturdy as they are now, or will they loosen over time....

other then that, its a great case

thanx for all the help on here
-Danny

I ordered the joogue case. It shipped yesterday, so it should be here in a couple weeks. I really like the idea of setting it to any angle, and the potential head rest of for the car.

Thanks for the review and photos. Are there holes for charging the Xoom without taking it out? Does it scratch the Xoom like the previous folio case did?

Every part of the case is leather wrapped, so I don't see how it could scratch the zoom. To charge it,you don't have to remove the zoom, but you do have to open the case. You could easilycut a hole in the bottom if you wanted to, but I dont see a need to....
one thing people over look is most applications work in any orientation.... so just put the zoom in the case upside down and your charge ports at the top out of the way while use it....

Don't have time for a long review or anything. But....

I got my Navitech Case in this last weekend. Took some work to get it in (they sited issues in Japan as having an impact on the dilivery. I ended up getting a shipping refund, then a product refund, and THEN a second product sent without charge. Though it took two unanswered Amazon messages and a claim filed, they did come through in the end. I ended up receiving my case and all my money back. They even said that if I get both cases, to keep them both.

Now, to the case. When I first received it, I couldn't believe how small it was and was worried about fitment. It was a bit tight (probably a good thing), and did leave that little bow at the top around the camera. I decided to leave it closed up for a day or two when not in use to see if the material would stretch a bit to be more accomodating. IT DID!

Right now, I have to say that I love it. It's very minimalistic in my eyes. No unneeded bulk at all. I love that I can pop out the kick stand while watching TV with it on my lap and Xoom away. Also, the case appears dense enough to provide the desired protection. The magnets to hold the cover shut and to hold the kickstand closed are just right.

I would say the only things missing/overlooked are:
  • You DO have to have it open to charge - doesn't bother me at all.
  • Unlike the Kevikev, folding the cover over doesn't really provide much tilt. - Don't think I would use that much and I fear that would eventually cause the cover to always bow outward when closed.
  • There are no cut-outs for the charging light at the bottom or the message light at the top-right. - Again, I know when I've got it plugged in and I can't remember the last time I turned my Xoom on because I saw the message light flashing.

Those three concessions are really nothing to worry about in my eyes. As I've stated, don't think any of them affect my use, personally. YMMV

Hope this helps.

I received my Navitech case today. I ordered it on Apr 15th and it arrived May 2nd.

I concur with bgrutter's observations. Mine bows out over the front camera at the top as well. I need to close up the case overnight to see if can get it to lay flat like bgrutter's. The bottom of mine bows out as well. It seems a touch too wide across the bottom causing it to bow out, particularly when holding the sides.

With shipping it cost around $27. It is acceptable at that price but I wouldn't pay more. It will work for me until the Otterbox is available.

I finally got mine on 4/30 (ordered 3/22). When I wrote to them, they said it probably got lost in the mail, with a lot of others, and offered a refund, or sending another case and refunding the shipping. So I took the shipping refund. So the original order was $13.48 w/shipping, - $4.49 shipping refund, for a grand total of $8.99.

I bought the CaseCrown case a while back from eBay, after reading positive things on here, so I had a case to carry the Xoom around already, but I must say I actually like the Navitech one. I like the CaseCrown one, but the elastic straps on the inside don't hold the Xoom in at all. Makes a good lap case though....the Navitech one isn't as good for that.

I also bought the Luxa2 H4 - Holder for Apple® iPad™ - Silver - LH0006 from BB a few weeks ago, since I had a $25 rewards coupon, and I really love that. It's aluminum, swivels, tilts, and it's raised, so I can plug in the USB and power cords. And it's adjustable, so I can put the Xoom in by itself, or inside the TPU or silicone cases that I got too. It's across the room from my computer/TV, but I got a wireless USB kit from TigerDirect, so I can drag and drop all my files back and forth from across the room. I love that! Now when I watch movies on the computer/TV, I use the Xoom to browse, read the forums, etc. Now if we could only get Netflix....PlayOn just isn't working out like I wanted it to. I can't watch the episodes of "The Office", and some movies don't play.

I have this case and it does lay flat. You can fold the cover back, like a book and the tablet lays flat. It's a great case!

Navitech arrived, finally.

Fit has to be the worst. The top "retaining" strip of leather bows out, and even if it were to eventually lay flat, it would certainly cover the camera. With leather goods, maybe each one is a bit different, but there should have been a built-in tolerance for this aspect. Kickstand is OK, but only one position.

Definitely not worth the wait. Nice concept, poor execution.

I have the smoke gel case I don't want anymore. It's very new and it won't make the xoom bulky. Pretty much just want to give it away but you pay for shipping. PM me if you want it. Here's some photos

What case are you picking up?

I bought the Acase for my Xoom. Have used it for 5-6 days now. The black leather looks great and seems very sturdy. It holds the Xoom in fantastic and no way it will scratch it.

However... it does tend to "slip" out of two of the ledges meant to give the Xoom a lesser angle hold. There are 3 ledges... one is about 70 degrees, another 45 deg, and another is maybe 30 deg. When it sits in the 70 deg, it holds fine, but when sitting at the 45 or 30 deg, it can/will slip out. Not so much on its own, but if you have the Xoom sitting on a table, and when you touch the screen, there is a risk it will slip out of the ledge. It's not an overly terrible thing, but it can get annoying.

Despite it looking great and protecting it great, I'm going to look at the other one from Amazon.

I think for right now incipio's case is the closest you'll come. Its a hard case/silicone with a kickstand. I have had 3 cases so far and the 4th will arrive Friday. I got motor folio, kevikevs orig leather folio, myjacket "leather" folio. Best quality build was kevs. Best viewing angle though goes to myjacket with the moto in a close 2nd. Kevs carbon case should arrive on Friday and I'll let you know my thoughts

I have the Targus case. I absolutely love it. It fits wonderfully, I love having the ability to sit it up when I'm sitting on the couch. It's got a nice soft inside and sturdy leather outside. The only thing that's slightly annoying is that I have to have the case open in order to charge it, but it's not that big a deal really. I got it from Amazon.com.

Money 50% off Motorola Store until June 26th Coupon

Here is the coupon if any one wants it. You get 50% off the accessories for the Xoom at the Motorola store. I looked at the stuff they have and I don't want any of it. I am getting the Otterbox for my tablet, as I think it will protect it better from a drop then the gel cases they have. Anyway, here you go.

To receive 50% off Motorola XOOM™ accessories, visit the Motorola store to purchase your Motorola XOOM™ accessories now for 50% off. Use Promotion Code XOOMAC50 at checkout. Promotion expires June 26, 2011, 12:00PM EST. Limit one per customer.

Just thought I'd let everyone know about a decent Folio Case available retail.

I picked up this Belkin UltraThin Xoom Folio from Target for what I thought was $29.99, but might have actually been $39.99 now that I look online (I was just excited when I saw it).

The fit is extremely snug and the camera and all ports are perfectly centered within the slots in the material. It's very similar to the original Motorola Folio, except that it's soft and has a sleeve, rather than hard clasps. Similarly to the Moto Folio, the charging port is not accessible while closed unless you modify the case (really doesn't bother me at all, though I suspect it would be EXTREMELY easy to place a perfect hole).

Best part is that since it's available retail, you could most likely walk into Target with your Xoom and try it out. The packaging isn't quite bullet-proof, though I'm in no any way recommending that you tamper with the sealed package. Perhaps a Sales Associate would assist you. I'm always a little anxious when I order accessories sight unseen.

Hope this helps someone.

does anyone even know when the Xoom 2 is officially set to come out? I am running low on stock for the regular Xoom and trying to figure out if I need to re-order more or just wait for the Xoom 2 if it is coming out soon.

I just ordered a Xoom, and now I'm looking at covers. Has anyone tried this one? Amazon.com: AYL® High Quality Slim Leather Case Folio with 5-in-1 built-in Stand For Motorola XOOM Android Tablet (3G & 4G WI-FI 16 GB 32 GB 64 GB): Electronics

Its an AYL leather portfolio case. It looks a lot like the leather portfolio case from verizon that inferno1 posted pics of. In fact, it could be the same one, but a considerably cheaper price on amazon right now. I'll probably get it.

Glad you like it. That's one less thing that I ordered that I have to worry about. Thanks again.

Does anyone recomend the portfolio hard cases over the gel cases? The gel cases are alot cheaper and if there isnt a huge diffrence then id rather just buy it instead of the hard cases.

Amazon.com: xoom

thanks!

Eew!!! I have a leather case but mine is so well done and it fits xoom so nicely that I wonder what went wrong with yours. Well, at least I can see that yours is a bit different from mine!!
