Default Root= unlocked bootloader?

Hello, sorry for the basic question but I just want to make sure before I go on.

I picked up a xoom on craigslist recently so i am new to the device.

I used root checker and the guy before me already had it rooted but he had no idea. It is running ics. I am just wondering if that means the bootloader is also unlocked? Is there anyway to tell? I tried booting with the power and volume down buttons and it went to the starting fastboot screen, shouldn't it go into clockworkmod or some sort of recovery?

Sorry if this has been covered but I haven't been able to find it anywhere and I would rather know for sure before i try to flash a rom/kernal.

Thanks!

Default

I rebooted into recovery and clockworkmod came up so I am going to proceed like I have a rooted and unlocked device.

If anyone sees a reason why I shouldn't, let me know. Otherwise, mods please delete this thread
