Default Xoom update coming tonight

From moto's official Twitter account:

"Motorola Xoom update rolling out in phases starting tonight & includes required enhancements to support upcoming Adobe Flash 10.2."

Isn't it ironic that when I go to motorola.com/Xoom to read about getting flash for my Xoom I can't see it because their website REQUIRES flash?

The additional info available from Motor says that Flash will be a Market download and more info is coming very soon.

I read that from the article but ironic nonetheless.

I suppose all update announcements will come from motorola and not google even though this is pure honeycomb?

Is there a way to force it to check for the update. Mine says that the last check was done about 6 hours ago.

I feel like scrolling on websites are smoother than they were. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to compare it too. If someone has access to two xooms, could you compare browser scrolling with one before and one after the update?

Just got the update. It's a shame that it didn't include the enabling of the SD card slot.

I don't have two xooms to compare but scrolling seems smoother. Some websites would have to re-render the images after scrolling but not anymore. Could be a coincidence but I don't think so.

Default Update

I got the update but I'm not really sure what it did. Did it just prep the Xoom for flash?

How do you know if you got it? Does the "about" screen give 3.0.1 as the version?

Droid life has the file for download but I'm not sure if they figured out his to flash it yet. It's probably better to just be patient and waitfor motor to push it.

I was prompted to install the update at 12:01 EST. It took less than a minute to download and install. So far I don't see any difference in performance. But I believe its a good sign that we have an update so soon after launch. I feel like maybe Motorola just might give excellent support for this product. So far I couldn't be happier with my purchase and feel like it will be worth every single penny once we have all the needed updates.

The browser seems to be working better. It's rendering pages much faster and the scrolling is smoother.
