This a new Boost Mobile phone.
This phone was released 11/2/11 and was sold at $250, on 11/4/11 Boost dropped the price to $200 and is offering anyone who already bought and is purchasing before 11/8/11 will recieve a $55 service credit towards their monthly unlimited payment.
Has to ACTIVATED by the 8th. I called last night. So it will cover anyone that ordered in the first two days at the higher price. Just FYI.
Would love to see opinions/reviews from owners of this new smartphone.
So far so good. I was about to get the ultra just for the keyboard when I heard about this. So far no problems with the on screen keyboard as its much bigger then the prevail was. Very fast and not to heavy. Reminds me of my co workers evo. Its very snappy and I am putting things on here the prevail only dreamed of handling. Netflix was awesome on wifi and still very good on 3g. Even with all the bloatware it has lots of app space. 4 gig on-board memory. It feels good in my hand. Well maybe a bit big as I was used to the prevail.
One thing Im trying to figure out is the ram. It had specs of 512 but the task manager has only showed me 376.61. Scratching my head on that one. Now all I need to find is some protection and I will be good to go.
Feel free to shoot any questions my way.
Wanted to add that the on screen keyboard has been no problem with the larger screen size.

I believe the ram is 376.61 because its like a hard drive on the computer when you have a 300G and you install windows, its no longer 300, its more like 297 or 298. basic program/software ram usage. Could also be used for virtual memory maybe?

That would be available RAM for use, Installed RAM is still 512MB, Just the system takes up a portion and doesn't list it as available unless you have certain root applications that can fee it and utilize it safely.
Hey chodroid do the function buttons on the bottom light up?
No official word yet, we will have to wait till the first people get their hands on the phone and report back to us about details, I would guess yes though because capacitive buttons are a total pain to hit in the dark without back lighting.
Also I would like to know about the little red light in some pics, I have been told either its a notification light or a IR proximity sensor that is only detected by a camera, well see.
So peeps if you have this phone already message me or post up about any interesting facts about this phone that you think people should know.

The red light is a notification light that YOU can set up in the settings to stay solid or blink depending on actions. IE sms, email, etc.
It does have a proximity sensor that darkens the screen as it goes to your ear.
As far as the function buttons at bottom..... They dont stay lite up but that does not seen to be an issue.
Hope that helps some.
OK one major thing for me, is the screen glass or plastic like the prevail? If its plastic then I dont think im gona get this because my prevail scratches sooo easy.

Minor correction: the red dot on the pics is a charge status indicator. When charging is red and blue when charged well. pull out the charger it will blind.

Thanks ChoDroid! this is a completely show of the red dot on the pics!
Mine is going back. Horrible customer service from boost about my 50 dollar price difference. A supervisor hung up in my face. AND over the weekend when using this beast, I dropped at least 80% of my calls and had to pull the battery twice. Pandora started on its own a few times. Very unreliable. I wish it wasnt because it was pretty snappy and handled most things well as far as processing.
wtf? so they do have a source of light behind them so I'm assuming there is a setting to turn them on/off is there?
The light sensor controls them. In a dark room they light up, in a bright room/outside they don't. I haven't dug into the phone yet to see if there is a setting for it or not but that's how they are controlled.
Hey chodroid do the function buttons on the bottom light up?
I do not have this phone but from the video reviews I've seen.
the capacitive buttons staying lit depends on the room lighting due to the proximity sensor. That's the sensor that turns the screen off when you put the phone up to your ear.
So... if your in a well lit room or in daylight they won't light up
But if your in a dark room or outside at night time they will.

You are a sharp genguin!
I'm sure the Warp has gorilla glass and capacitive touch screen with WVGA LCD. I'm on the way to find the enough proofs to show you after a few days. waiting for me here. Why the guys in boostmobile not advertised on its website!!!???

Maybe chodroid can confirm.

Backing up Shabby on this one. I've done a ton of research on this phone and there is no mention of it ever being gorilla glass. Pretty much every manufacturer that uses gorilla glass advertises it. That brand means something to smartphone customers. Once it's rooted by Shabby and Hroark gets Cyanogen Mod on it I might switch over. Just can't go back to stock after all the modifications on my Prevail. Hopefully ZTE is similar to Samsung in driver releases to the dev community. See you guys in 6 months(The amount of time it took the Prevail to get CM7)
How your call quality? Have you been dropping alot of calls like chodroid was?
So far no dropped calls. Used BT headset last night for a 1hr+ call and a few small ones today no issues.
I'm pleased to report today I have so far been using: 4 hours of pandora
30+ texts
3 phone calls <10min each Battery is at 88%! On prevail by now I'd be at 65-68%. Battery life seems to be pretty good so far.
Update: If anyone is still debating or thinks this phone has gorilla glass. Please by all means attempt the test from the following video. Gorilla Glass is Amazing - YouTube[/QUOTE]
Made a call to ZTEUSA hotline, here is explanation:
ZTE guys said it still doesnt has agreement with Corning® Gorilla® Glass this is why cannot find Warp list on its website. She said this is under way.. Hope the guys can set our heart at rest in a short time.
PS: Well assembled device is hard to distinguish the Gorilla apart with others. If anyone want to disassemble a Warp, please put the touch panel straight under the daylight lamp. Corning looks a little white. other glass looks different as other color like green.
Another ways to distinguish are drop and static press testing. Corning is more stronger than others in same test scenario.

I activated my Warp on Friday 11/11 and so far have loved it! Very fast, very user friendly. No dropped calls, however I was not receiving all my text messages (people told me they sent me a text). I powered down and back up and 17 messages came through. Since Sunday, no issues getting texts.
I also paid $249.00 for the phone but called Boost and they issued me the $55.00 credit.
So far, so good and a great phone for a great price. I will agree with someone else though that the camera picture taking lags a bit - however it is a nice, crisp picture once it does take. Love the large screen.
Also note, there is no SIM card slot only an SD slot. And yes, the buttons on the bottom light up. My only complaint would be the LED indicater light is very small. Sometimes I do not even notice it is blinking. (say phone is on silent and I get a text)
There are no covers, cases, etc available yet either - I was able to get a screen protecter for the HTC EVO and it fits pretty nicely and works for now. I asked Boost when their would be items available and the guy had no clue.

I tried Gingerbreak but after half an hour it still hadn't worked. Not saying it won't work since I don't really know. Just saying I got tired of waiting after 30 minutes.
My Warp is running Android 2.3.5, and I know that version has been rooted on other ZTE phones. So I think it's possible, but so far no one has released any tool to do it.
So, I got my phone Tuesday and put it to a pretty good test while driving for 2 hours. I covered about 150 miles between Fort Collins and Breckenridge, which had me traveling through Denver and then up into the mountains about 80 miles.
Signal was strong the entire way. When I got to the base of the mountains I fired up streaming video from a global news station. I left that on for the entire remainder of the drive up into the mountains (about an hour, covering about 80 miles as I said). The highway is cut into the mountains so most of the drive is in what you'd probably call "canyon" between mountains.
The signal only faded twice for a few seconds (naturally, I'm driving in deep canyons), and I streamed the news videos the entire time. Performance was very good -- waaaaaaaaaaaay better than Cricket ever was in that same area.
Oh, and the video looked awesome on the Warp screen. No jittering, no pixelation, good clear video.
