Default Have a few questions about the ZTE Warp...

So i am upgrading from a Cricket Huewai Ascend(worst android phone ive ever had) to the ZTE warp, my phone gets here on the 5th and ive been reading mixed reviews...i have a few questions to the people who actually own it...

My choices were between the warp and the LG esteem on metro pcs, anyone had hands on time with both?( i heard the esteem is heavier, horrible battery life and about the same specs and metro pcs "4g" is not really 4g).

How is the processor? 1 ghz good? my huewai ascend LAGS like all hell if i get a text while im texting or doing anything else, even basic tasks. Is it leaps and bounds above the ascend performance wise?

What does the 512 of ram actually aid in doing? tasks?

How is the battery life realisticly? i text very frequent throughout the day( every 2-3 minutes or so) and VERY rarely use internet/phone calls/games.

Do you find yourself regretting not getting a phone with a front facing camera?

How common is the screen detaching problem?(my biggest concern)

I keep reading mixed reviews on different sites so it would be nice to hear from people who actually have spent time with the phone, i went to boost and it felt good in my hands(thats what she said) but they did not have an actual turned on model i could play with... thanks guys! im new to the forum by the way.

Any other advice is appreciated! PC mag gave it 3 stars but they are comparing it to high end phones which it obiously is not, i will NOT be playing super high end games or any of that, just want to use facebook, texts and sometimes angry birds is it decent?

I can only really talk to you about the hardware, as I don't own one yet.

The processor in the Warp is the MSM8655 Snapdragon CPU. It is one of the fastest single core processors, and has plenty of power. To give you an idea, it is a slightly faster than a single core of Tegra 2. This is actually pretty good since Android hasn't used dualcores very well until 4.0.

The 512mb of RAM is plenty for the operating system. There will be some slow downs, and you will have to be somewhat mindful of how many apps you have open, but it will be plenty.

Texting shouldn't lag you. The battery life its decent. I turn the brightness down and turn off wifi when I don't need it and I get about 10 hours out of it with a lot of use. If I don't really use it it can last me two days.

Phone works great! My wife has a nexus S and it's comparable. I'm sure that if you clocked it against the dual core phones that you would have something to be desired, but it runs all the apps that I want great!

You will have an issue with the battery draining before this becomes an issue.

I can go a day and a half without running into an issue normally. If I use google navigation a lot, or leave some battery draining app on in the background, I do find that it will drain it fast. Simple solutions: plug it in while your driving with gps, advanced task killer app.

A little, but again this phones tech is about a year and a half old. Front facing cameras are relatively new and the masses aren't using Skype yet. When I do want to video chat the computer still is great! If I could go back and choose again I would have gotten the same phone.

My main concern as well. I think they are a minority of phones, and my personal phone looks great! I asked people to show pictures of this "detaching" issue and they didn't. To me that saying that there are not enough people with this issue to actually post pictures of this online. I bet yours will work great.

My major regret is the fact that Google voice does not fully work on it. Other than that I hope you enjoy your phone! Year and a half ago this would have been a 4-5 star phone. but against some of the new ones I can see the rating. For everything I need it to do it's a 4-5 star phone. Boost phone service is better than I anticipated, and i had a great first impression with their customer service.

The basic functionality of Voice is there. I use it all the time but some have posted some of the higher functions can not be accessed. I have not run into any problems myself.
