When is this app going live ? I rooted my phone, used rootdim and the Warp Creme Sandwich Rom, which disabled my wifi, would not let me mount my SD card, and prohibited me from downloading and connecting my phone via USB to my computer. I am somewhat of a newb, so I had a friend who is somewhat of an expert, and he basically said, insure it out. It's done. So I did. Not going to root my fourth phone, always seem to run into problems, or more than it is worth. My new Warp never freezes, well maybe once every 2 weeks when I am overworking it. Really want this flashlight app as it would be handy to have. At first I thought no big deal, but once I had it, BOOM, it was great. Looking forward to your app coming out.

Etas are slightly frowned upon. Lets see what he can do for us without rush. I'm sure his personal life may have come in the way of this for the time being. Thank you.
I am really excited about this flashlight and I just cant wait for it I'm sure others know what I mean a flashlight for the warp is awesome
My bad didn't know asking some one the eta of there software release was frownd apon will u point that out to me in the rules/guide line . Thanks
I was reading them and I couldn't find it, I don't know a better person to ask then a guide to point out were it sate that rule I'm breaking. Cause its everyones forums and I don't want to be 'that guy'
well besides a moderator of course ;-)
Cheers
It's not in the Rules/Guidelines because it's not necessarily a rule that we enforce (nor is it one that we created).
Asking a developer for an ETA can be seen, by some, as rude because they do the work for free... on their spare time... kind of like us guides and mods. Over the years, some (i.e. not all) developers have taken the stance that asking for an ETA is rude because they have to stop what they are doing to respond that an ETA is unknown so that they can then go back to keep working on developing so that 3 posts later they can go through it again (while if there was a bug reported it would be useful).
So... asking for an ETA is ok, but it's all in the way that it's asked (if that makes sense). The way you asked it, however, seems to be completely fine BTW.
But, to be clear, it is NOT against the rules of the forum (just the unwritten rules of developers mixed with a bit of courtesy (ironic as it may be)).
Feel free to PM me for further clarification or to discuss if needed.

I'm not replying to Kelmar, I just want to expand upon his explanation
Another reason why it's rude, as I've seen this happen: A user requests an ETA. The developer says Friday, for example. It's now Friday night, and people are going crazy. Like someone stole their puppy. Saturday comes and goes with more irate people demanding when the ROM/App is going to be released, et cetera. And, like Kelmar said, they do it on a volunteer basis, often for free, and to demand something of someone that is doing you a service, for free, is incredibly rude.
So developers stopped providing ETAs, because their project may not be completed at that time, or even within a week of the date, and they got fewer frustrated fans. Whenever I see a developer give any sort of ETA, it usually comes with a few caveats. Like "Soon, I have other things going on this week, so hopefully after I get all that sorted out". That sort of thing.

Mooseberry, I did not mean to single you out or make you feel attacked in any sort of way. There were two other requests for ETAs right before you which I let sit idle because blackbolt has yet to respond, but I felt it would be best to finally respond for him and let everyone know something may have come up.
Again I am sorry for that. If you have any questions, please shoot me a pm and we can discuss it further. Thank you!

Alsaces daddy, hey friend I didn't exactly feel singled out I just wasn't sure. there has been some drama in other threads and I want to make sure I'm not out of line. Also like I said I don't want to be that guy. I can understand how etas can be bothersome. I do appreciate the advice (also, advice from the mods as well) and apology but it was not need trust me. And on a side note I want to thank you for all the help you have provided. Cheers

You will have to contact the dev blackbolt and talk to him about getting an authorization username. The app is locked without it.

Yesterday we just got power back on after Isaac hit. 4 days no power. Not too bad but not great either.
That being said I made a few changes to the app like have it remember the minutes setting. I used it today to install a kitchen faucet and it cut off at 5 minutes and luckily my friend turn it on again.... I wasn't happy about that lol.
During the hurricane I used it a ton and noticed it taking about 1% of the battery down every 30-40 seconds or so!!! WOW. Honestly the light is insanely bright compared to say an I-Phone's light so it's no wonder the battery just drains down fast. Unfortunetly, on non-rooted phones, I have no way to provide a "DIM" option but I may make the minutes selection 1,2,5,10. I don't want an indefinite option because it may leave someone without a phone.
I'm still alive, just been really busy and then the hurricane hit.
@ UnknownUser1, I don't recall me giving you a username exactly?! I don't remember. I have to look through my private messages. I'll check into it and private message you...

I have had no personal time lately. Every time I get free time someone I know asks for help. No time to relax, no time to code, nothing
Take this weekend for instance would have been a good time to spend coding. Instead I have to go look at this car that my friends want to see if it is viable to fix. It will take most of my saturday or sunday up. Maybe I can get some coding in sometime this weekend.
Everyone can use the temporary name: openbeta
to use the app.
** Remember use this app at your own risk. I do not know the long term effects of this program. **
** If for some reason the flash gets stuck 'ON', the phone may need to be reset or the button in this app may need to be cycled off/on, or another app like the camera may need to be used with the flash. **
I would appreciate a reply that the username, openbeta, is working and also would appreciate some feedback through replies here (or PMs) about YOUR take on the app.
== It took me a good 10-15 minutes of waiting to post this because the site went down for me when I tried and didn't come back up till just now ==

I've only had it stay on one time. The glitch I found was when you press on it won't turn on until you hit off. Then do the cycle again and it will work. Other than that its good.
Hey im a root user my zte warpp i love to the fullest just didnt have everything i need i found your postings downloaded the beta and i had issues with it when i turn on the on button the flash light come on but goes straight back off like i took a pic or some then. Did you try to press the on button again? It has a known bug where sometimes the initial "ON" does't make the light come on and the off makes it just flash. Try to turn it back on when it does that.
Installed after clearing old one. Got authorization and light immediately turned on while button said off.
Sorry.
I am not concerned with the check box, I know it's buggy. It was put in mostly for ME to test but if it's done slowly it won't bug out. By slowly I mean check it, wait.... uncheck and wait when done.
Now as for the problem I quoted, if you read the update I mentioned that I have the light blink when authorize or during no internet uses (at least I thought I said that...) . Is it coming on and staying ON or just blinking?
I tried it last night. Really nice. Thank you Blackbolt22 .
Did have slight problem with the blink function. Maybe I wasn't using it correctly. Kept stalling program and had to reboot phone.
I've been using a screen flashlight What a difference this makes

Ya it's a work in progress, not surprised. Gonna possibly put some time in this weekend to make everything a little nicer.
