Default [Help] People cant hear me at certain angels

Ok so heres the problem, my microphone works perfect when im holding my phone to my ear, but if i i lay the phone on my head while im laying down or if i hold it on my shoulder, people complain that i just sound like gibberish. Im pretty sure im not covering the mic because i tested it by covering a bunch of differenty places. Also it does happen when im holding it to my ear on the left side, but not the right side. I've had this problem before with a different phone. I dont understand am i covering something, is it the way u hold the phone, or is my phone messed up?

I have this problem as well.

If I use my shoulder to hold my phone while I use both hands (a gesture as old as the telephone), people say that it is as though the microphone stops working and they can no longer hear me at all. It makes no difference which shoulder I use.

Its quite annoying though. I use my phone and take notes all the time. This forces me to use speakerphone, and a lot of my clients prefer that I do NOT use speaker.

The only other work around I have found is a Bluetooth headset. (I'm just not elite enough for that lol)

Yep, I'm pretty sure the back is on completely.

As a test, I called my own home phone and performed "angle" tests. It seems that if the phone goes beyond a 45° angle, and the display lights up, the microphone stops working. Its almost like speaker phone is trying to turn on but won't/can't. However, when this happens it kills the microphone completely and I have to hold the phone vertically before the mic comes back.

Quite annoying for a shoulder phone user, but something I'm getting used to dealing with.

I have the same issue.
There is a top microphone (I think...hole next to headphone plug), and a bottom one...
maybe it's freaking out the noise cancellation feature.(this phone has that, right? :-D )
Just my thought...

it does have noise cancellation but im not sure how it works exactly, and as far as it having a hole there, you ever tried covering only one of the speaker holes in the back at a time? one does absolutely nothing, while the other cuts off the sounds almost completely. you never really can tell with a zte lol.
not to say noise cancellation isnt the culprit that is very likely, that and im not 100% on the effects of the proximity sensor, or it could just be a really bad mic setup
