We still need to wait for more reviews concerning the camera. I'm disappointed that they already made a review without testing out one of the biggest features... the HD video capture.

I hope the Droid X wont have mixed reviews as much as the HTC Incredible has received for their camera. Sites were all over the place for the Inc on that issue.

The part about how returning to the homescreen sometimes took a while concerns me. I wonder if Motorola modified the kernel to support all 512MB of RAM...

Or is the Blur launcher just that bloated?

Actually it's not that bad, pretty typical cnet review. If you take a look at their iphone 4 review they tend to be pretty non-biased and unlike engadget which calls the Iphone 4 the best smart phone on the market, totally kissing apple's ass

True. CNET tends to do that, unfortunately.

At least it was done by Bonnie Cha. I like her as an editor. She's a lot more level headed than many others at CNET who are "OMG Apple!" I forgot what she uses but I do know that she was using a Palm Pre before instead of an iPhone. Perhaps she's leaning more towards the Android side.

I wonder if some of it could be that it has 7 home screens by default now. Who knows if they had all 7 screens packed with crap or not. I know on my Droid with 5 screens loading it up with certain widgets will cause a noticeable stutter.

Calling something really good doesn't mean bias. Honestly I'm a fan of android but the Iphone 4 looks really good, this fanboy bullshit is so stupid.

I dunno why they'd call it a review if they didn't extensively test it yet. Especially with statements like:
"The Droid X has a 1GHz TI OMAP processor, and the phone has been quite responsive. It's not quite as lightning-fast as the Droid Incredible, but we were able to open multiple apps with little delay."

I was under the impression that OMAP is faster than SnapDragon and better on the batteries too. Perhaps its more of a MotoBlur vs Sense issue. Doesn't matter to me, I'll be using Launcher Pro on it.

Based on Youtube vids I have seen so far today, I agree. The interface, browser and screen rotation is slower than the Inc. Review-device bug?

I have my Inc loaded up with over 400mb of apps and a few widgets, yet my Inc if a lot faster. I would have thought the opposite.

Same as I was thinking. Wish a reviewer would clarify if its specifically the UI or running apps, etc. Benchmark tests all show results with X being a lot faster.

Probably blur. If it bogs down with live wallpapers and widgets- that will confirm it.

The 3630 is a beast, so my bet is blur.

The stutter they are seeing in the reviews is more than likely not caused by motoblur. From what I've seen and read, motoblur is nowhere on this thing. It has a skin that resembles blur and it has some widgets that are borrowed from blur but its not a complete home replacement like with blur.

the "lag" is probably more due to the fact that the processor is pushing all 4.3 inches of the display. where as the Inc is only pushing 3.7

That is an explanation. Also... I wonder if the live wallpaper in the background has an effect. When I have a live wallpaper on my Incredible, it's noticeably laggier and not as zippy. When Froyo comes out, this phone will be a beast in speed. I'm very curious at the graphics capability of this phone.

I don't think the screens physical size has anything to do with it. 3.7" or 4.3" if the resolution is the same they will be rendered at the same speed. The Droid X has the same resolution as the Droid 854x480.

Yeah I ignored his "review". lol I just went straight to the pictures when I saw the link. Why is the MicroSD card such a big issue? I don't know why you need to take it out for but I just connect my phone to my computer and do everything that way.

I have a 16gb card for movies and for mp3's. I like not having to shut down to swap them out

Having to shut down to swap cards seems a tad silly, IMO.

I don't think the typical user carries around 3 or 4 different sd cards. I don't think 90 percent will care where the sd card is. Having said that, I do have several sd cards that I use and I too like the ability to swap them out at anytime without having to shut down. why would they not just flip that port around and make it accessible from the outside of the phone or a tleast without having to pull the battery.
