major htc desire issues

Be interested If just me, ok on to my second desire due to faults, Im on contract with t mobile, my 1st htc desire would not send picture messages, It said they were sent, but no one gets them, can receive them fine, even send them to myself and I will get them, just to no one else, very strange, also signal Is unstable and drops off constantly, streaming music via blu tooth is like having scratched disk, went on for 3 months, finally got them to except there is an Issue after sending them link to there forum with pages of people with same Issue, got new one finally and all was well for 2 weeks, now having same problems, but now with added touch screen Issues, where touch screen stops working till I switch It off or typing become really slow and can't keep up with me, and I type slow lol starting to think t mobile sending out little network updates that mess it up, anyone have this and manage to sort It,

Also you can use your own tones for text, just long winded way of doing it, I did It, and still not sure how, connected by usb, put tone In loads of system folders till it turned up it alert tones, ended up with loads of same song in player, but just deleted them, someone must know which folder works rather than my long winded way

I am waiting for a handset swap due to mms issues but I am not convinced it will sort anything. The net is full of folk complaining about this issue over all of the networks not just TMobile who I am with.

WEll after I got new phone, worked for couple of weeks,, so got them to reset account, worked for one day, but today I think I made a break through, not a solution but maybe help them figure out why, delete a friends number who you know can recieve pics, delete them off sim, phone and Google account, delete all there messages and call history, now compose pic message and put there number manually. Don't cut and paste it, It then sends, so either phone book or sim is corrupting contacts, odd , let me know if same thing works for you, picideas@aol.com

Problems with MMS on T-mobile here too. Some friends have received them albeit very delayed, others never receive them.

Also could send SMS abroad but not receive them but that could be another issue :)

Need to contact t-mobile this week, would seem very unlikely to be the phone at fault though..

I'm on Vodafone and a few of my friends aren't receiving my mms. I sent them to myself to double check and I receive them fine. Although Vodafone does send me a text saying that I've been sent a picture message with a link to view it online. Which I thought they only sent when a phone doesn't have the correct mms settings set up.

Yes Contacted htc, got know were, really doing my head in, going to try something today if get time, and buy pay as you go sim and see if sends with that, or find someone with t mobile sim, so can are if can rule out sim or problem from when upgraded on there setting ends, if you can send to your self, should work but don't,, let's hope we get it fixed, love this phone, from what I have seen, seems to be just t mobile customers , so not phone, ever sim or something gone wrong on t mobile system on upgrade, I did not change my old flexed 40 to new version been wondering if could be that, might explain why only handful of us with problem

If you search the web there are thousands of posts from folk across all networks with the same problems.

It has to be a HTC issue surely ......

I haven't sent an MMS message recently. So I just tested it this second and it works fine. Perhaps you should visit your carrier's website and get them to text you the correct MMS settings. I know T-mobile has this functionality. I don't know if the other carriers have it also.

I went through all of the settings with 3 different people at TMobile and all settings on my phone were correct.

I can send the odd one ..... but thats about it and it seems to be a fluke if it actually works!

I have spoken to HTC who went through the settings AGAIN then basically told me they had never heard of the problem and to back to TMobile!!!

Getting carrier to send settings was all that happened 1st month, moved on from that and still got no were after 3 or 4 months, new sim next, are see if that does it, it is a very old sim, does anyone know if sim cards been upgraded in last 6 years, just theory, and isn't it great, even with all us, both htc and t mobile still say they never heard anything about it and pass you on, becoming a joke, we need to get everyones number and carrier under one ref number with htc, so we can all send details of what we got, ie tarrif, network, area we live in and serial numbers and see if a connection that could relate to us all

Yes, SIM cards have changed in the last 6 years ;)

A thought. Do those of you having issues have auto date & time enabled in settings? If so does the problem go if you disable and RECHECK date & time are 100% correct.

The auto date time causes untold issues on Tmobile and other networks.

No change but thanks for the tip.

strange thing though ............. the people the messages HAVE managed to get through to get a new one sent straight away ............ others who havent still pending .....

I had similar issues with picture messaging and T-Mobile. Most of my friends are on O2, some would receive, some wouldn't. I read somewhere that having picture messaging turned off for a couple of days and then re-activativing would fix it. I telephoned T-Mobile, and to be honest they were very helpful, I spoke to a technician, who said that this wouldn't do anything. The techie actually traced my messages and said they were going to the O2 message centre and that there must be a problem at their end. He credited my account with the pics that didn't go through and asked me to give it another try. A couple of days later it still wasn't working, so I phoned up to have voicemail turned off, while I was on the phone I told them to turn off picture messaging as it wasn't working. A week or so later I was sent a pic, when I tried to view I got a message "generic network failure". I sent myself a pic (I was told this would activate picture messaging again) and I could view the pic no problem. I thought I'd give it 1 more go, sent a pic to a friend who couldn't receive and it went straight through, so much for the techie !!

im on old flext contract.

woman at t-mob (3rd try) knew nothing of the prob (or the handset really)

tried the usual sending with wifi on/off, 2g/3g, to myself, to their test phone etc.

i would estimate 1 in 7 sms reaching the recipient at the moment.

at the end she suggested i try another sim in a tmobile store, otherwise she'd swap the handset. i've got this one all set up nice so i dont really want to swap it, and i doubt it would fix the issue.
