Fantastic that Motorola didn't overestimate on the 8 hours talk time (keep in mind that iPhone 4 has 7 hours talk time). Also, a big incentive over the HTC Evo with "much better battery life overall", even though they both have essentially same battery power and same 4.3" screen.

BEST of all: "An even larger, 1930 mAh extended battery which is 1mm thicker will be available at launch as an add-on accessory."

Who else is getting the battery on launch day? I will be going there early just for that! 1930mAh extended battery in a phone such as this for only 1mm more thickness that will essentially make it the same size as the EVO in thickness?

Although I am not going to be purchasing it on launch day (made that mistake with the evo which I've since returned...I'll see how long I can hold out to read some feedback on the DX before making the plunge), I think this will be my next phone! I was really upset and impatient about waiting for a later batch of evos, but in retrospect, I am kind of glad that it happened the way it did. ...now July 15th seems so far away!

The Droid X paired easily with my Aliph Jawbone Icon ($99, ) Bluetooth headset and—wonder of wonders!—triggered voice dialing over Bluetooth, a rare feature on an Android phone. Voice recognition was pretty accurate.

I think most people have said that you cannot turn it off, but you can remove the widgets, which makes it like stock. Everyone I have heard talk about it says it isn't really in your face like it once was. So if I got this right, no you cannot disable it, but you just remove the widgets.

yeah man, i think adw or launcherpro will fix it if what wolfedude says doesnt work.also if you get startup auditor, you should be able to prevent motoblur from even loading onto background resources

It looks like it comes with the motoblur launcher with the phone, app drawer, and contact buttons. Id be shocked if you can change that.

It will be rooted and custom roms made for it, guaranteed. So if this new blur turns out to be too much of a bother, it's just a matter of loading up a different rom.

You hope it can be rooted. After 2.01 on the droid, motorola has been trying to lock down the phones. They did it on the milestone and tried it with 2.1. I guess when it comes out we'll see.

Ugh, damn, was hoping the X would be crappy, just so the decision would be made for me.

I can't tell you how much I love my Evo. The only thing that would draw me away from it would be an awesome battery life (vs. the decent one I have, really no probs for me) and the possibility of a cheaper plan with Verizon by getting rid of texting and going Google Voice for everything. The only negatives I'm seeing with Droid X is the Ninja Blur UI and physical buttons (for my own personal preference).

Not a big deal either way. The only thing that matters is the actual real life noise cancelling ability -which the reviewer thought was very good.

Well, I can assure you that the battery life on the Motorola Droid X is leaps and bounds better than the HTC EVO 4G.

I think it depends on the situation. No one exactly knows how it works. I've heard that if you're doing a video recording and choose to use one mic, the other 2 mics will work as noise cancellation.

well, the X has the battery management profiles. i think its a great idea for a phone of this caliber.

Well, I can assure you that the battery life on the Motorola Droid X is leaps and bounds better than the HTC EVO 4G.

Just found out I get a discount with Verizon through my place of employment. Could save about 40 bucks a month if I use Google Voice for texting. My poor little Evo, I love it, but damn.
