Help

I have a Orange (UK) Desire which i have gold carded and unbranded with no problems.

Software info below

Firm Ver 2.1-update 1
Baseband 32.30.00.28u_4.05.00.11
Kernel version 2.6.29-97da29ed
htc-kernel@and18-2#1
Build Number 1.15.405.3 CL150129 release-keys
Software number 1.15.405.3
Browser Webkit 3.1

There is now a software update available (1.15.405.4) which i have tried to install OTA it all works except it says unable to start WIFI. I have tried to install it with both my Goldcard and normal SD card (not sure if that would make any difference)

I emailed HTC support obviously didnt mention the debrand and they told me to try a couple off times using the following method

Dear Neil, Thanks for your email, it seems this happens on a very rare few phones, and the fix seems to be to perform a 'Hard Reset' once or even twice. So, I would be grateful if you would go through the procedure below and see is this works. Turn the power off. Hold the Volume Down button Press and release the Power button You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button Press and release the Power button Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO If you selected YES, all data including third-party applications will be deleted from the HTC Desire. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state. Many thanks Jason. HTC

Tried this and it aint working had to go back and use the RUU that i debranded with.....

any ideas how i can accept this update, i am worried when 2.2 is released i am going to have problems getting it to work now

any help would be great
