Call Lag Fix :-)

So I almost returned my hero because it was having major problem initiating a call from the people widget (major lag). But I found out that my task killer was continually killing the people app, so I added it to the ignore list and the lag lessened substantially. Hope this helps someone.

you need to add your task killer to your personal ignore list, that solves even more problems.

Yeah, I just uninstalled ATK yesterday and noticed a huge improvement in performance....especially with the dialer.

I wonder if the varying experiences with dialer lag have to do with how many contacts one has vs someone else. This doesn't excuse it, of course, but just wondering. Some may have all their google email contacts or Facebook contacts in their phone causing the lag. Just a thought.

I haven't used a Task Killer since day one (since you really DON'T need one with Android) and the call lag has been here all along. Sorry... it will eventually show its ugly face.

I guess that's a possibility because I do have a very large number of contacts, but if too many contacts causes your phone to stop behaving like a proper phone, they need to limit the number of contacts to a number that won't cause that problem. I'd certainly pare down the list that is actually synced if I thought it would make a difference, because there's less than 100 contacts that I have saved in Google that I would actually call on a regular basis.

I still have the lag, and have never used a task killer to autonomously kill apps. I have about 50 contacts, they are all outlook contacts.

I also get the lag on my unlock screen, the pattern screen, not the slide to unlock screen...it's pretty darn annoying

Dailer lag all gone for me now. It was really bad for me. Last night I switched roms and now everything is much faster. Seems like a whole new phone. Try different roms and hopefully you will find one that works for you.

I'm running the stock sprint release 2.1 right now though I really wanna root and rom. I'm not sure I've ever had the call lag everyone is talking about but my ui used to lag like a mofo.

And the best part is people don't learn, they are sold out in most stores, I guess the Moto is have a phone that does not work properly and people will buy it, LOL and guess what we will charge you more for it for service while we are at it, unfortunately all the other carriers are not better.
