this one is a little different. First, my screenshot taken with shootme

now for everyone out there posting that they have 24 hour battery life and this and that, I'm not sure I believe you.

you might look back at my picture and be confused. first, i would like to say that I am not accusing anyone of anything and this is not an attack. I will simply say don't believe everything you see.

now let me explain. I love my Evo to death. But, i am not one of those people who believe that I should have a charge that lasts 3 days with a phone so powerful. I know a good deal about phones and i love technology. I also love what my phone can do and push it often. That day i was doing heavy texting, listening to music, heavy surfing, and facebook uploading and updates. My battery was dying at about 5 pm. Without turning the phone off i took the battery out and started the phone again. After a bit more heavy usage my battery was down to the 74%. I went to check how long since i had switched batteries and this is what showed up. Obviously there was a glitch or something that happened, or something that i did involuntarily. Just something to think about.

12 hours and only 26% usage, I would say it sounds like you were idling or using it very little, but yes, this is EASY for many of us to achieve. I am on this pace DAILY, if not better. In fact, if I let the phone sleep for 12 hours without using it at all, it only goes down maybe 5% tops. I can get it to go ~40 hours on a single charge with moderate usage and no bells and whistles turned off (I like to enjoy my phone).

Try the battery tricks if you need an improvement. There's a bunch on here, one's a GPRS trick, so do that one as well.

I think you are missing the point. I'm not looking for improvement. I am perfectly happy with my battery life as I don't have unrealistic expectations. I don't think you read the first post. The 74% left after 12 hours was a glitch. I did indeed run my battery down in about 10 hours. That 74 is what was left after using the phone heavily for about 2 hours. It was a glitch in the monitoring software.

Every time you restart your phone, it defaults back to the GSM network setting; which drains your battery fast...and of course your going to run down your battery with heavy heavy usage.

All that should be expected of these phones is one complete day. That's all I expect, and in that regard, with the 'network setting mod' and a fixed image wallpaper, my phone well exceeds my expectations for battery life.

The usage on my phone has been relatively moderate today. I have been off the charger for 14 hours and I have 60% remaining. I'll plug in tonight of course, it'd be pretty stupid to run out of juice in the middle of the day tomorrow.

Umm people are confused because you were not very clear in your first post. When you say you took your battery out without turning the phone off you follow that up with turning it back on... I am assuming you put in a fresh battery but you didn't say that. Ok now you looked at the phone after a couple of hours of use and the App that you downloaded (BatteryTime?) shows time since unplugged at 13 plus hours but then you show a picture of the phones monitor and it shows the accurate posting... So it is a glitch in the Third Party app not the phone. I go by what my phone says for UpTime Awake Time and Time since unplugged. I only use BatteryTime Lite for the percentage

What I stated in my first post was clear. If I ran the battery down and took that battery out, of course if I have 74% left I'm not putting in the same battery. That is common sense so I didn't feel the need to go into detail.

But I digress obviously the glitch is with the software. My point is don't believe all of the pics of just that first page stating time off the charger.

What is a complete day? Yours or mine? No phone will last me a complete day. My day begins at 5am and stops at 9pm. No phone will do that, not with what I will make it do. Sorry just not possible.

Thank you that is the point that I continuously try to make. Battery tech is not to the point where it can last days on a phone of this ability if you use it to its potential.

I have never taken the battery out of my phone when posting stats. On the weekday I get around 7 hours of use (not on a charger) I use it a lot.

On the weekend I can go 1d 3hours before hitting 15% battery and that's because I turn of Mobile Data when I'm not home using WiFi.

So think what you want, no one is trying to trick people about the battery life. What would be the point of that? We all want to get the most out of our phones so we can and help others do the same.

Finally. Between river and wubbie that sums up my point. The reason I didn't come out and say it is because of a post like robo's. I am not accusing anyone personally. All I am saying is it is possible, and to not get discouraged if you cant reach some of the more unrealistic "results" out there. And robo you further proved my point. Seven hours with use not charging. Your day came under different circumstances. Everyone that posts those shots doesn't divulge all of that info so it is misleading.

HTC EVO FTW!!!!

What I can say is that when the up to wake ratio is low you'll get tremendous battery life, easily 24hrs (with moderate usage), however if your up and awake time is equal (problem with either the phone or apps) battery life is horrible.

I dont doubt anyone who says they are getting the time they claim, because when the phone is working properly it does have exceptional battery life.

You do need to go into detail. I've read everything up until this post, and I have no idea what you're talking about. You're doing a horrible job of explaining yourself.

With moderate use I'd expect android system to be much higher, standby and idle lower, however thats just based on what I consider moderate use and the figures from my phone.

In any case those are excellent figures, no matter what the use was and just goes to show that when everything is working correctly these phones have excellent battery life.
