The Texas GOP wants to ban anal sex, strip clubs, all forms of pornography, sex education other than "abstinence until heterosexual marriage", the "Morning After Pill".

Oh and included in all that is banning... oral sex.

And there goes 99% of your male base (the remaining 1% can't use theirs anymore)...

I know! It basically alienates atheists, agnostics, buddhists, taoists, wiccans, and so forth. Now if they mean Christian God... then include Hindus and whatever other religion that doesn't follow Christianity.

According to different state governments, it's a government paper between a man and a woman, depending on the state. Without that paper, the marriage does NOT exist. So... religion has nothing to do with it if atheists and agnostics can just get married... unless you want a ban for them to not being able to get married, but that's just extreme and very discriminatory against another group of people.

It still doesn't count for all of the East Asian religions such as Buddhism and Taoism and for those people who believe in a supreme being, but aren't affiliated with any religion because they don't feel the need.

What would you consider people who had arranged marriages? Are they not eligible either? I have a few Indian friends whose parents never met until they were getting ready to marry. They definitely do not believe in the Christian God, but instead, many gods.

Unfortunately, they're true. Those proposals will not pass though. It will be very difficult to run on a campaign with those proposals, especially with them wanting less government control over the private lives of citizens (what's more private than what happens in the bedroom?). I wouldn't want ANYONE, Republican or Democrat, to tell me that I'm not allowed to do a certain kind of act in my own bedroom.

If they seriously try to push those proposals... they will eat themselves alive (and not in the sexual way... lol).

The proposals may be true, but it is like this for both parties. They throw a lot against the wall from all factions within and see what sticks.

More than anything else political, I really enjoy the far-right's problems with human sexuality. To me, it points out one of the fatal flaws of many of those on that side of the fence...they're control freaks. Control has a lot to do with the far right's attempts to ban abortion, too...it's about the only way left they can try to control their women.

Not always. Most people in this country seem to think that its a western religious term but its really not. People from all religious (including non) all over the world as far back as ancient times have gotten "married." Its pretty much a universal concept.

Severing relations with the United Nations, including removing all American financial and military ties.
Defining marriage as a "God-ordained, legal and moral commitment only between a 'natural' man and a 'natural' woman."
Opposing all criminal or civil penalties against anti-gay activists and any actions they make take to "oppose homosexuality out of faith, conviction, or belief in traditional values."
Banning sodomy and demanding that Congress "withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy."
Cracking down on all forms of pornography, and enacting stricter laws that prohibit virtual pornography and [the] operation of sexual-oriented businesses.
Requiring a sonogram be performed and offered as part of the consent process to each mother seeking an elective abortion.
Opposing the sale and use of the "Morning After Pill."
Opposing any sex education other than "abstinence until heterosexual marriage."
Supporting objective teaching of Intelligent Design alongside evolution, global warming, political philosophies, and other "controversial theories."
Opposing human trafficking in any form.
Creating a free market for water to help meet future demand.
Using the light-handed regulation of the oil and gas industry as a model for the state's water market; and
Supporting the so-called "S.A.V.E. U.S.A." plan, which stands for:
S - Secure America

lol Exactly. I don't understand what the Texas GOP was thinking on that issue. Basically... if you support homosexuality, you will be considered to be a criminal. Talk about CENSORSHIP! I'm afraid that they're going to declare a law that attacking homosexuals will be considered "lawful and just".

That's you take on it. I see it differently. Since the racist AG Eric Holder said that whites and Christians would not be protected by hate crimes laws, the Texas GOP included this provision. Holder was questioned directly whether a Christian minister saying that homosexuality was wrong, they will go to hell, etc., then physically attacked by gays because of the sermon would be protected:
