So.. my samsung impression died.

I have a cheapo little go phone which works ok.. The proble is, it doesn't receive text from my girlfriend.. seems she is the ONLY one I don't receive text from...

I was hoping since I already spent 30$ on a cheapo go phone.. I would be able to find a razr on ebay or something.. I don't hate the aesthetic value of my phone.. and it is durable despite feeling pretty cheap.

Anyone have any idea's? I know razrs are by no means high quality or anything.. but, it would awesome if I could find a v9 for 25$ somewhere lol.

I really don't want to get another go phone especially because I already bought the cheapest one I could. If I have to get something new it would be nice for it to at least have been "high quality" at some point during its life cycle.

At&t

*edit*

the only reason I don't hit "order" now on the at&t version of the n1 is because the bill is not in my name.

My parents refuse to pay the 25$ a month for a data package.. (ironically after discussing how it completely not needed one night, my mom called me the next day and asked me how she could access facebook from her razr XD)

And the downside is when my parents think something is not worth it.. Not only do they not get it.. they will pretty much not let me live down getting it.. And I really don't want to pay much more than 25$ for anything new I get... Its hard to justify spending any money at all on a phone when you can afford the one you want.. but, can't get it for other reasons..

After looking around I see that its not quite realistic to get a razr for 25$ anywhere x.x Maybe I could go stand outside a radioshack/best buy and catch someone as they are walking in to recycle an old phone lol

Eh.. My parents are generous enough to pay 9$ and have me on their phone bill while I'm in college..

However, I do live in my own apartment and have my own bills to pay. If I lived with my parents and worked for the same company I do now at home.. I would probably go ahead and just get my own line with an employee discount for a few reasons.. (not that my parents are bad or anything but, I would have enough money to do it because I will have to sooner or later)..

However, rent is 550$ (really good price) But, summer just hit and my last bill was 200$ for entergy.. I'm already at 750$ a month not counting food, gas or anything else and I go on minimum wage + comission... And well.. Unfortunately being in school means I work when I can, so I'm not exactly breaking the bank in terms of sales atm. X.x

Now my girlfriend does live with me so she does help offset the cost and such..

Unfortunately I can't really set any sort of "budget" because, I don't have any set hours what so ever nor set pay rate..

I'd pay for that feature!!!

Not funny when one of the major reasons I got text was for her.

I won't say that it was solely for her.. but, one of the greatest things about text is being able to receive text at work instead of seeing my girlfriend call, wondering if she needs help. Having to check the voicemail as soon as I am done with customers or out of class.

Checking the voice mail.

Calling her back, leaving a message and then waiting to receive the next voice mail..

I live with her.. I'd rather be able to look at a text and not have to replay voicemail when I get off work trying to remember what I need to do.

Hmmm.....I was going to recommend Google Voice for text if that is the only reason why you got it. Save some money and use it for data if you can. If possible, try to get a cheap Android phone on ebay, either a At&t branded one or an unlocked one and install Voice on it. I'm pretty sure there is a way to bypass At&t's "forced" data plans.

Btw, I assume At&t because you said you bought a goPhone.

I like at&t. I have 3 phones, and pay 85 dollars a month. What I like about at&t, as long you call a at&t cell pnone no minutes are charged. Saving alot of minutes. Verizon has the same plan but phone to phone, you get 1000 free minute . But what ever minutes you don't use with at&t, you keep those minutes for 1 yr. it will be alittle more than 30 dollars for 2 phones. depends where you live. You should be able to keep the same phone, as long no one else has it with the new company
