What do you use to watch movies?

I'm going on a trip soon and wanted to put some movies on my phone. I found some DVD ripping software, ripped The Dark Knight as MPEG4, and was thrilled when I saw the picture- it looked fantastic.

Then I put my headphones in.

Where's my sound?

Before this, I had the movie The Book of Eli on my computer, MPEG4. I put that on my phone- sound, but not video. Converted to H.263, got both, but video was terrible quality. Near unwatchable.

So what have you guys been doing? Should I try converting to a different format? I mean, there has to be some way to get good quality video.

What are you using for the conversion? I am trying to find the thread but someone had al the settings and everything for a good conversion using Handbrake. Use the iPhone or iPod settings. I am gonna look for that thread though... it is about 720p over HDMI

Well I went to look for something when I remembered that RealPlayer has conversion software.

You know RealPlayer? It's really nifty- allows you to rip Youtube videos, and then with the conversion software you can switch to a multitude of video formats or just audio- whatever.

It also has some good customization options for custom conversion settings. But I'm just using the HTC Incredible setting- it says it's H.263 and since the two phones are pretty much the same...

But that thread would be great. I looked at Handbrake before using RealPlayer.
