Moto X's Processor

I've read a couple of reviews on the Moto X and they all say that at times the phone felt sluggish and that the shutter speed on the camera can be slow at times. I know that "at times" doesn't mean it's a slow processor but vs. the incredible which is being touted as the phone that blows through any task with ease I was wondering which phone has better performance.

Where are you reading that it was sluggish? I haven't seen that anywhere and I've been reading all the reviews. lol There's occasional stuttering, but no actual sluggishness. There are only benchmarks between the EVO and the Droid X and the X beat it with ease. It's the UI that has some issues, but hopefully Motorola has some update for that or ROOT. It will completely open up the phone for you and the raw power of the X is in your hands. The actual Droid X phone is faster than the Incredible.

I have the Incredible and Sense does lag a bit with live wallpaper in the background, especially when trying to scroll up and down the People and Bookmarks widgets. It does NOT blow through any task with ease.

The PC World review did mention a couple times that it was "sluggish". Hard to believe but.......

Oh wow I can't believe that I missed that review.

He did mention that it did lag in certain areas, which surprisingly, switching between home screens wasn't included. It was in the menu and unlocking the phone (I hope Motorola fixes that... but I use Lockbot Pro for the Incredible anyways, so I'll be using that on this phone).

I'm afraid that I have a feeling that as more and more reviews come up, people will have different takes on the camera. I have seen from "good" to "best". Until there is a review that has a good selection of camera photo samples, it's really hard to tell. I'm confident though that it will be at least equally as good as my Incredible's. Many of the sample images that I've seen so far definitely confirm it.

Why is your font so huge? o_O

i have a feeling it has to do with blur, or the reviewer was testing the phone on one of the battery save profiles within the power management app.

Nonetheless its not a deal breaker, since the motos cpu is clearly better than anything else out that is running android. This fact alone should point you directly at blur being the culprit.

Personally i dont see it as a issue.

Ya the PC World review was the one i was mainly referring to, and im pretty sure that its the Moto Blur software thats slowing it down. Any chance 2.2 will fix that?

2.2 most certainly will fix that. I've had the pleasure of using my friend's Droid running stock and then running the ported version of 2.2 that was released at the time. 2.2 made it just about as snappy as the Incredible. Imagine what 2.2 will look like on this beast!!!

Also, I have no problem waiting about 2 months to see this update b/c it's pretty darn snappy as it is.

First: The phone still has almost a month (just shy of) to release. There is no doubt that Motorola is still tweaking the phone software. In fact its been reported that the X's that were given to reporters as review units have already gotten some minot OTA updates to fix things here and there. Im sure when the day of release comes the software bugs and issues will be ironed out.

Two: The camera shutter lag has nothing to do with the processor. its the camera hardware and software stack. Depending on the physical parts Moto decided to use and the competency of their software engineers in optimizing drivers, apis and what not, the camera can be super fast like in the EVO or somewhat sluggish like in the Droid. I have a droid overclocked to 1.1ghz from the stock 550mhz and it has no bearing or effect on the camera shutter speed.
