Thought this was interesting. I just got this info from a friend who works at Verizon...

"Look for 2.2 sometime in late July/Aug time...no real for sure time line."

We were also told that we'd get Android 2.1 (or at least 1.6 or 2.0) by late December or early January, and the official version took until May. So if he's saying July or August, I suspect that means December. Still, late would be better than never!

Procure a pie from a good bakery (be sure it is a pie of the type you do not like, otherwise it will not meet its True Destiny).

Go to the Verizon store in Erie, find Nick and splotch the pie in his face good and hard. ;)

(the above is a joke.. never touch another human being unless he or she indicates that they want you to and in a manner you have agreed upon with that person)

i thought you were going to come up with something clever, like have his upload the froyo release onto an sdcard and hide it in the crust of the pie and ship it to us :p

The kitten killing thing over the OTA got tiresome. ;)

Anyway, rumors and quotes from Verizon reps in stores, on the phone with support, etc, are bound to propagate no matter how many pies land in their faces.

The "end of life" stuff is good, too. As if everyone with an Eris will wake up one day to find it will no longer boot up because it's reached its end.

hmmm... interesting that i just read a story today claiming Moto DROID should be getting 2.2 in July and DROID X in August...

i think we have a confused rep here....

its funny how many people when they here DROID they think it encompasses every single device (not saying that your friend did this but... its just funny)...

and when you try to explain to them how there are many different DROIDs they/you get frazzled... because they don't comprehend fully...
