Help Charging indicator and notification led

Can someone point out the charging indicator and notification led's?

Can't be 100% but I don't believe the SGS has any LED indicators at all. I think the screen flashes on to tell you when the battery is full, that is all.

Without turning on the phone you get one indication:-
1. Set the phone to sound a ringtone and it will play when you have a new message.

When you bring the phone out of idle mode (screen switched off) look at the lock screen.... You will see if you have a text message the screen has altered to a 'Jigsaw' and one piece from the jigsaw has been moved out of it's slot and is glowing bright green.

You can also download a program to flash the screen every X seconds if you have missed something.

....but until I root the phone it's a bloody nightmare showing any screen saves.

So, 15 minutes after you receive the ringtone that you missed there will be no visual indication that you missed something. I'm so used to my G1 giving me multi-colored LED notifications of missed everything. I guess I'm a creature of habit, I also like the amber charging LED and the green charging complete LED. Thanks.

It is simply devoid of anything LED, be that Power, Email, SMS, Flash.

The only way you can get a repeat of a sound notification is by installing Handcent SMS and by that name it only applies to Text Messages but at least if you do miss the sound notification it will at a designated period repeat the sound.

Before getting the Galaxy S not having any LED's inc the Flash LED was worrying me ~ especially as I was coming from the HTC HD2 which did.

However, it is quite surprising how you get used to not having the notification LED's and the sound is very clear...
Even the on screen notification is better.

As to the absence of a Flash LED ~ again I thought this would have been a downturn but again I've found the camera to be very good at handling low light situations.
I suppose part of this is due to the Lens having an F-Stop as low as f2.4

So no notifications on the top bar as well that you missed a call ?

When you say the top bar are you referring to when the phone is switched on?
If so then yes, the top bar shows icons of missed items.
If you then pull down the bar you get access to certain items, some being missed notifications.

I was earlier referring to the fact there is no LED notification on the Galaxy S.

The good thing about AMOLED screens is that when a pixels display a true black color (#000000) it's actually completely turned off that pixel, in fact displaying true 480x800 black image on the SGS screen resemble turning the screen off. so i was thinking what if the screen was completely black except for few pixels in the coroner that are green to indicate miss calls, the screen will only consume power to keep these few pixels on, the rest of pixels will not consume any power.

To demo this, i made this 480x800 image with all pixels black except for 9 green pixels on the top left corner, you can save it and try it in your SGS full screen, as for the power consumption, the screen have a total of 480x800=384000 pixels, of which only 9 is on, so 9/384000=0.002% of the screen power only consumed to keep these 9 pixels on.

I was thinking of gluing a white led on the back for flash. And, a green, amber, orange, cyan, magenta, blue, and red led on the front for notifications. Anyone want to join me in this modification?

I signed up to say, you sir, ARE A GENIOUS! But the pixels should alternate location every week maybe to keep those pixels from being overused and decreasing lifespan of those pixels.

Clever thinking but unfortunately I don't think this will be a viable solution. It is not possible (at the very least without a custom ROM) for the OS to go into proper idle state (preventing various update tasks from running, down-clocking or turning off the CPU core, and otherwise perform its various battery saving tricks) while at the same time keeping the screen on.
