Can you remove ninjablur (or whatever it is officially called) and just run stock 2.2 (or 2.1 for that matter)?

I love that my droid isn't all gussied up with nonsense from Moto and if I end up going with a droid X, I want to make sure I don't have to root to be able to run a clean os.

Thanks!

actually according the Android Central and Mobileburn.com this phone does NOT have blur on it. It has elements of blur but they are not fully integrated into the firmware like with the cliq or the devour

Man, did I miss this somewhere? I thought last I read it couldn't be disabled, only the widgets.

I guess I hit on a hot button issue by accident, but I don't think my question has really been answered yet.

Verizon and Moto may not be calling whatever custom skin they have layered on top of 2.1 "blur" or "motoblur" or whatever, but there is still a skin on top, right?

This is unlike the Droid which just runs stock android, and, from what I've been reading means that it will take longer for the Droid X to be upgraded to 2.2 because Verizon and Moto need to work with the additional skin rather than just the stock 2.1 version of android.

Seems like pure marketing to be insisting that the Droid X doesn't run "blur" when what we (at least I) wanted to know was does it run a stock version of android or a custom version. Seems clear now that the answer is a custom version.

And boo to that. I'm sticking with my Droid. If I want something that slows down my phone, I'll add it myself thank you.
