All my contacts are seriously messed up

Okay so when i got my phone I think I did every possible thing you can do wrong with contacts (yes i was stupid) :<

First I forgot to copy all contacts to sim on my old phone, so I was (and still am) missing alot of contacts.

Synced with google contacts.

Then I synced (or does it do it automaticly i cant remember) with facebook. Since i haven't named most people with first and last name on my old phone it only found very few matches. So then I:

Installed facebook sync app, it added like 200 people which I will never call...

All this lead to ==>

Duplicate contacts with the same name AND number
Contacts with only email
Contacts without any other information than their name!!
Contacts only on facebook.

Also it does not recognise alot of contacts i receive SMSes from, it only displays their +number as some sort of hyperlink it looks like.. I can long press and add the number as a contact but it does not help.

FINALLY I was thinking, i'll just remove all contacts and start over and be a little smarter this time, BUT how do you actually remove all contacts?? (I DON'T want to remove the SIM-contacts as they might not be on my old phone either!!)

Go into 'People' on your phone, then click menu, view and make sure just Google is ticked.

Also has the option to just show contacts with phone numbers and to link contacts together to remove duplicates (although it doesn't update Google contacts with the new information sadly).

As for your other isssue where sms's aren't coming up as the right person you may need to change the format the phone numbers are in to be the +number. If you use google contacts i believe you can edit them faster than on your phone.

Okay, I've selected "only contacts with phone number" and I've unticked "show automatic gmail contacts" and facebook.

Earlier i think i was trying to merge two of the same person into it's sim contact or gmail contact or something.. it worked when i merged it into its phone contact.. it seems anyway.. Allthough why this should matter doesn't really make sense to me..
