problems with wireless tethering

I recently flashed to the Fresh 2.1.2 rom, and i'm having trouble using the "Wireless Tether". I've uninstalled the one that came with the rom, and i've installed a fresh new copy from the Marketplace. But every time I've tried hitting the "tether" button, it says "Unable to start tethering, please try again!"

My superuser app isn't doing anything, this might be the problem. Whenever I open the superuser app, it's a complete blank screen.

Try the one from there that says 1.6 HTC

Version 2.0.2. that I got from the developers page.

Also note that I have "debugging mode" and "Unknown Sources" mode set on.

Yes, I do. I'm able to surf via Dolphin with no problem.

Did you uninstall the old one before you installed the new?

Yes, I used the app called "Uninstaller" that I got from the Market.

Sounds like you did it all right, have you rebooted? sometimes that can help...

Is my "Superuser" app supposed to have anything to do with it?

When you run a root app, su has a popup, and you need to check the always allow button when it does....

I guess that's it then.. My su doesn't do anything when I open wireless tether, nor does it do anything when I open the app itself. It's just a blank screen.

When you open su, it won't do anything, but it should give you a popup screen when you need to run a root app. Open the wifi tether app, and don't touch the tether option, then give it a minute to see if you get the popup.

maybe worth a shot (sufix) as mine works, running 2.0.2. can't get BT tether working in it though, nor could I with 1.6, but the difference in 1.6 version was that it would FC every time I tried BT PAN tether. This time it starts, but my win 7 laptop wont touch it... maybe something w/ Win 7 BT stack, haven't tried Widcomm yet; WiFi can really heat the phone up, but the cool thing about 2.0.2 is it shows battery temp in corner.

The SU fix is, I believe. It is an easy fix, though.

Alright, I flashed with a new rom, the ZenEXP. But, now that my tether is working, my computer doesn't have any activity when it finds the network. I mean, it can detect the phone, but when it's connected, it shows that the connection is limited and I can't go to any webpages or anything...?
