Hey guys, I'm new to the community and I ordered my Evo via Wirefly about 2 weeks ago. Due to the shortage I had to wait.

Recently I received an email from WireFly

Thank you for shopping with Wirefly.

We received some encouraging news from Sprint today, and now expect your Sprint HTC EVO 4G order to ship early next week. Sprint has released a new allocation of these devices, and based on your order date, we expect your order to be shipped and scheduled for activation as soon as these devices arrive at our distribution center.

Upon shipment, we will send you an email and update your online order status with a link to track your shipment via FedEx. In the meantime, this device will remain in

Welcome to the insanity!

As for any updates to the hardware, they are just rumors that this point and any comments from this group will be speculation at best.

If you are tired of waiting, check your local Best Buy or Radio Shack. A lot of those stores have a pretty hefty stock still on hand.

Hey thanks for the advice, I received the 50$ off from the phone so that's the price I pay by having to wait which is fine with me.

I just was not too sure what they meant by the email, Wether they have "new updated" devices being sent out or just a "more" devices being sent out

They're just in line like all the retailers it's just that the deep discounters don't usually get a lot of inventory allotted to them. The speculation is that this new batch coming out has had some improvements in terms of the assembly process so perhaps there's better quality control in the build. At least I'm hoping that's the case since I'm finally going to buy one as soon as they are for sale on sprint.com! And welcome to the forum!

Many are asking the same question, but only time will tell if there actually is a hardware update in near future. My local Sprint store has yet to deliver my EVO either, but I am not in that big of a hurry, so I figured I'll just sit tight, and if they update some of the hardware related issues in meantime - all the better.

Your list of fixes is pretty accurate but the major fixes are related to 4G signaling where the device wakes up from time to time despite in idle state. It also fixes some of the HDMI connectivity issues. For those having problem with Bluetooth, mostly this subject will not be solved till Froyo is available. This problem is currently limited by Bluetooth profile supported in 2.1 verison.

I had a question just curious how the update will fix the battery life
