So is the EVO old news now?

Have we peeked? Even with all the bad press iPhone is getting all I'm starting to see these days is "Droid X"...yawn.

I saw a podCast today where they asked two different people why they were getting an iPhone4. The first one said "Because I can download music directly on my phone" and the other said "Because it's 4g". lol

How does it matter. I don't care what as long as it is an Android phone being talked about. I love my Evo. I need no validation.

"How does it matter", hmmmmm let me think about that sentence for a moment.

I honestly have no answer for you. I've never read a question like that before, so sorry.

Just asking, but is that anything like "Why does it matter"?

A month after Droid x comes out it will be old news too. I do think it's. funny though how when evo first was reviewed it was the best ****ing think on the plane. Now, less than a month later, all I keep hearing is how much of a piece of shot the evo is. All these 30fps cap threads , slow performance, etc. (my evo is still awesome though. )

Lol.....really?

There's always gonna be something new, something different, within a couple of months of ANY phone's release. But it'll probably be around a year from now before Evo isn't one of the most beastly superphones around.

And no, Evo is not old news at all. If I could have any phone on the market, it'd be Evo.

Oddly enough people seem to be paying more attention to Droid X already over EVO. Probably because of the Verizon and Droid names associated with them. Average joes know who Motorola is but maybe not so much Htc. That plays a part too.

Verizon Driod line became that way due to agressive marketing, and Sprint should be putting thier moneg train behind it for the normal joes. I've seen maybe three Evos commercials tops

like is this post serious.... look the droid X is crap, the build looks cheap and dull as hell. yes it has 60fps. who freakn cares. its a phone. if u want something u can watch movies on, go get a portable blue Ray player, if you want something to play games on get a PS3.

This is an EVO thread, nobody cares about Droid X or Iphone 4.

Iphone advertise so much how u can talk and browse. NEWS BREAK!!!!! u can do it on the evo too.

Stop posting this crap. thanks:)

No, if sprint begins aggressive commercials. I mean you still see original Driod commercials....get it on it Sprint

That drives me crazy. The only thing Sprint does is showing Dan Hesse or dominoes, without mentioning that anemic lady using the Pre. Who cares about how great is the network if people don't see a good phone? I wish I could fire the marketing people. They stink. I can't stand those stupid commercials. Instead Verizon has awesome commercials that make you want their phones. Wait until you see the new DroidX commercials, or the IPhone4 ones. People don't even know Evo exist. Well, maybe we geeks do. Grrrr.

The Droid X is crap? Aside from 4G and a front-facing camera, the Droid X has practically the same specs as the EVO. The build looks cheap? I switched from the Droid to the EVO for many reasons, but build quality was not one of them. Motorola makes rock solid phones.

I know this is an EVO forum, and I do think it's silly to ask if the EVO is old news, because the phone is just as good now as the day you bought it, but putting down the Droid X while holding up the EVO is just as silly. Both are excellent phones.

The EVO is important because it's the first top tier Android smartphone that Sprint has. And as someone else said, it will be a while before the EVO is considered anything less than a beast of a phone. By that point its successor should be coming out on Sprint.

Yes it's old news. The DroidX eclipsed it. Besides the reports of the camera being better the OMAP processor with GPU will make it perform better than the SnapDragon.
Besides that the Evo trumps it.

Sprint should've stepped up announced it at CTIA and launched the dern thing.
They would've been top dog for months the way the Nexus One was.
AT&T customers won't switch because of the iphone and Verizon customers won't switch because of the DroidX. Both released or leaked before the 30 day return with Sprint.

Sprint just can't make themselves win.

Never really know how to respond to these types of posts (which is precisely why I never reply to them). But what the heck? Always a first time for everything right?

Ready?

IT DOESN'T MATTER!!! Who cares how many poorly written blog posts the term "htc evo" pulls up in a Google search? If the media stopped talking about the EVO right now, would it be any less of a kick-ass phone? Absolutely not!

I can only speculate as to what motivated you to start this thread, so I'll refrain from saying anything more...
