BTW, wi-fi is working if you go to "http://72.14.221.99" instead of "www.google.com" so that certainly is a DNS issue (#114).

IIRC you can't as the original home gets replaced by it. Not easily anyway.

Same here. DNS problems. GAOSP isn't too slow. Little tweaking from Drakaz and company could make it faster.

I took the plunge too. Since it seems to be pretty difficult to add Dutch locales to Galaxo or any other 1.6 firmware besides XXJC2 I'm glad to find out that GAOSP 2.1 has them onboard. Will test some more the next days.

I seem to have a problem, and that is with the dctionary.. while typing the auto-correct doesn't have any words in the dictionary :|

Same here. NL locale does exist, but there is no dictionary.

I'm on JC6 and it's pretty stable. Seems like the dictionary only knows words it took from the contacts. So I'm afraid T9 isn't working.

Not sure if the compass is working correctly because it keeps pointing South instead of North even after calibrating several times.

Other than that and known malfunctioning camera it's a great step forward. Will test some more.

I had the same problem with Italian language, then I discovered that there are two keyboards installed.
If I long press the "123" button I can choose the first keyboard instead of the second keyboard.
With the first keyboard auto-correct works fine.

I have been flipping between included ADW and LauncherPro and I think this Beta2 works better with LauncherPro, snappier.

Both launchers lose the Live Wallpaper setting and revert to last static wallpaper if the lock button is used so this must be an issue with how the button is programmed.

Yes a few FC here and there but this release with LauncherPro is certainly usable for me.

Nobody else having problems with gmail? The included gmail app force closes immediately after opening.

I tried that fix and it didn't work for me. I've done multiple reboots on my phone with no luck.

I finally got the time to try out this second beta. It's nice! However it was less responsive than Galaxo, but it sure was usable. Gallery looks great!

I need the camera all the time though, so I went back to Galaxo. Great job Drakaz and the others!

Did you get the Internet working? Anything changed in your APN settings? I noticed that mine immediately detected BELL (without me having to enter anything into the APN) but would not allow me to use the browser (error message that there was no internet connection). Even when I entered info for the APN it wouldn't work.

I'm currently reverting back to Galaxo myself until I have more time to mess with it.

Sorry, I don't have a Data plan and only use Wifi.

My wifi worked out of the box and I was able to access the market, so I didn't try any fix. I only kept GAOSP for a few hours so I can't really help you, sorry.

I don't really have the time to try it again, as I've got to get stuff ready for my first day at a new job tomorrow.

I had to manually build my Bell APN. If there is one there try deleting it and rebuild as:
Name: Bell
APN: pda.bell.ca

Make sure it is saved and selected(green dot) after you build it.

I'm on Galaxo 1.6.2 my battery life is about 10-12hours.
I need something with longer battery life, the trouble is that internet swallows my battery. How is it on this release?

1.6.2 contains no sleep bug, so you either upgrade to 1.6.3.3 or GAOSP Beta2. Both will surely have better battery life.
