Ok this sucks!!!!!!!
i used to get about 35-40 hours on one charge before the wonderful update to 1.6.

i got off the charger at 6am TODAY and now i am at 20%

f'ing ridiculous nothing on my phone has changed except the 1.6 update (and some app updates cause 1.6).

Anyone else seeing this issue?

Actually, the Use Network Location is a fairly useless feature (IMO).

It basically constantly uses the current cell tower to get location data for web browsers, Maps, etc. except it's COMPLETELY inaccurate in terms of location.

It shows me in California :-/

I've had that issue on all 1.6 ROMs (Don't have the Official yet, though, so can't comment)

By turning THAT ONE feature off, I went from 8-12 hours to 35+ hours.

And that's with 2 hours of PodCasts per day

yea turn that off, and turn wifi and gps off.

you want even more battery life, dont enable 3g.

Yes i can do that, but ALL MY SETTINGS ARE THE SAME has when it was 1.5.
and now with 1.6 i can barely make it home. and i have to turn everything off and even be on 2g to have enough battery to make it till bed time.

I bought a smart phone to be smart, not for it to smart me and have me doing all these extra steps and waste my time.

darn you samsung, darn you.

did you look into that battery calibration thing.

im actually testing my battery now.. about 3 HOURS AGO, i turned on bluetooth, WIFI and connected to one when I got home, 3G, GPS, and had the LED FLASH on..

when I started it had like 3 or 4 (cant forget) of the bars lit up in the battery ring indicator.

and as i sit here and type this, the phone is still the same, still on. but only 1 bar now in the ring.

so I guess I can't complain, i thoguht it would have died by now.

I got 1.6 last Thursday. Today, in 50 minutes, my BH2 used up 6% of its battery, and that's without me doing anything with the phone (just unplugged the charger, wait 50 minutes, open phone and check battery settings).

With my normal use, the battery was fully depleted after eight and a half hours. I'm now charging it while it's off. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Backlight time is set to 1 minute. Pressing any of the front keys and D-pad lights up the screen (not just the touchpad) which turns off after 5 seconds. This is totally different before the 1.6 update.

BTW, after charging the phone after its battery was fully depleted and powering it on, there were a lot of apps that went missing. So I powered it off and on again. This time the touch screen was totally unresponsive. I removed the battery, replaced it in, tried to power it on again -- this time it won't go past the Samsung logo. After several tries, I had to hard reset the phone.

Some app is preventing sleep - it is a bit of trial and error to find out which one(s). The only fix I found is to check for sleep periodically and if the phone won't sleep, reboot. If the phone sleeps properly battery life is fine. If battery dies fast phone is not sleeping correctly. I had no problems with sleep on 1.5 with my apps. One or more of them is preventing sleep on 1.6.

After less than 7-1/2 hours, battery level is down to 36%.

Phone settings are:
1) LCD brightness Level 1
2) Backlight time = 1 minute
3) Use wireless networks = off
4) Enable GPS satellites = off
5) Share with Google = off
6) Background data = off
7) Auto sync = off

Task Killer's autokill when screen off = on

I'm using PandaHome, for what it's worth.

The 1.6 update's toll on battery life is freakingly ridiculous.

Fully charge the battery.

Fully drain the battery (run the battery till it dies, then when I'm doing it I put it into download mode [volume down +ok + end call button] till that dies) at this point you could pull the battery and try to drain it some more.

Fully charge the battery (leave it to charge for atleast 8 hours, if not more.) Preferably while the phone is off. when it's fully charged, you could pull the battery again and let it charge some more.

And that should calibrate it.

You could also find bhman batterystats.bin file that is in the root section, and install that.

I've been trading off between warheads and R12 every couple weeks and have had pretty good battery life. I have everything turned on except GPS and Use Network and listen to 4 or 5 podcasts a day while at work using acast. My battery is usually around 30% when I put it on the charger around ten. I Just flash Full, Drain, then Charge Full while off. No real trick to it, just be patient.

I was chatting with TMo's customer care about the problem and asking for a replacement phone. As a condition for phone replacement, he asked me to look at the liquid damage indicator (which is on the right side of the battery terminal). To look at it, I just pulled the battery out without properly powering off the phone.

Lo and behold, when I powered on the phone, the menu key no longer lights up the screen. I think the phone now properly goes to sleep, but I have to observe it for a day or two.

BTW, TMo will only replace my phone with another Behold 2.
