Help Evo Speakerphone and Home icon doesn't work

OK, I have two issues that for some reason just popped up out of nowhere.
First, whenever I make or receive a call the speaker on message appears and my phone calls all are on speaker. I can't seem to fix that, I looked in settings but can't figure out what happened and how to fix.
Secondly, for some reason when I am in a program and hit the "home" icon my Evo no longer opens the home menu and allows me to go to other programs on my home screen. I am forced to hit the back arrow on the phone which is annoying. So if I am browsing like 10 web pages I have to go back to the first page to the first page I opened of the internet , then it allows me to press the "home" icon. very inconvenient...
Please tell me what I did wrong, i don't recall hitting any buttons to change these settings.

Did you download any 3rd party apps that could change these settings? Example there is a APP called car mode that always answers calls on speaker when enabled. just a thought. You can always try HARD RESET but this will erase everything. DId you do the update yet?

I did do the update, but was having these issues a day before the update. I called Sprint yesterday and was told by the support team that my issues were a software issue and that I still had time to return my phone. I ran down to best buy and the guy there basically said that a new phone was still going to use the same OS, so he wanted to try something first. He downloaded an app called "advanced task killer" and killed all the apps running in the b ackground (which unbeknownst to me was just about everything). Low and behold my issues are resolved, and my battery lasts longer and my phone seems to be faster. I hate to say it but I thought I was exiting programs, but apparently I was multitasking, and my phone may not have been able to handle like 30 apps running at the same time.
I will monitor my phone for the next week to make sure there are no issues becuase my 30 days is up soon.

Did you ever get this figured out? I started having this same problem out of the blue, and I already have ATK installed. I went to the Sprint store and they downloaded Froyo and it still didn't help.

I havent had an Issue since I went to best buy and got atk.
But, if you recall I said that Sprint told me there was. Software Issue, so who knows.
