Google/htc/whoever failed to mention the eris on the list of phones getting/not recieving 2.2, and now that froyos "official", are we gonna get it? I understand that we're not likely to get it but it'd be nice to have all those features on such a great phone. :p
So what do you think? Do you think we'll get 2.2?

i read somewhere these (Eris Froyo) threads were killing baby penguins, similar to the kitten genocide that was 2.1.

the kitten genocide was of little concern because i generally hate any and all domesticated felines...however i quite like penguins, so killing them is not very nice.

SORRY BABY PENGUINS :(

They always look so well-dressed for the execution too.

Yeah, they sure do..

I'm fine with not having 2.2. There really wasn't anything as complelling in the release compard to 2.1 - navigation & 1.6 specific app support. Yes, there were some "nice to haves" like tethering, but at a $20/mo Verizon upcharge - no way. Exchange support only good for corporate users but alternatives abound. Keyboards, tip widgets, shortcuts - meh. Performance improvements could be interesting but these things usually are specific to some subset of functionality and not as great as they sound.
I'm fine until my contract is up and I can make a BIG jump in hardware and network.
