Competition in the Open-Source World Drives Software Evolution

With the release of 0.6.2, we gain stabilty and features like ChromeToPhone, FLAC support, increased WIFI stabilty, Facebook Sync, Compcache(unstable read changelog) and better Bluetooth stability. Also we have dropped the standard android versioning convention as it only confuses everyone. Effective immediately our Rom will always be the latest android source available to the public thus eliminating the need for a confusing marker that holds no reference to our rom.

As the themes are completed they will be added to the download page.

**NEWS**
Theme support, watch for 0.6.2 official thread on droidforums.net, for your chance to have your theme officially supported by Sapphire. (Details will be in post)

Many thanks to Kovaleski who has offered to host Sapphire on his website!!(Yay no Mediafire)

gotta say Sapphire 0.6.2 has been great to me along with Bekit's test kernel. I feel like I have majorly improved battery life too. My only complaint is that I can't show the remaining battery % anymore and I wish there was a 1Ghz working kernel :D (Other's work, but wifi remains broken on most except for Bekit's kernel)

I'm running P3's Kernel that is listed on the Sapphire site. It is a 1GHz kernel and I must say...the ROM may not have as high of benchmarking scores as some others...but it feels like butter.

Nice UB! Working perfectly for me. :) Thanks for the heads up. I swear that wasn't up the day I was messing with different kernels :X

I said the same thing so I don't know that it was...I could have sworn that it was a 800MHz Bekit kernel :)

If you're going crazy...I'm on the same train. I was just playing with the themes available for this ROM and saw it today.

that kernel was released later that night... there will be an updated rom coming tomorrow and the kernel to go with it(hopefully)

there is an issue with the current P3 kernel that everyone should know about. P3 forgot to remove the debugging information form the kernel so it fills the /system partition. thus preventing the ability to flash any themes... if you want to flash themes do so before flashing P3's kernel...

it's an awesome kernel just big...

Thanks for the heads up. Flashing the P3 kernel was the last thing I did so I didn't see any problems. I forgot I was running an 800MHz kernel cause the ROM felt really smooth. Works nice with the 1GHz kernel and I am happy until I see a 1.1 GHz kernel released ;)...I'll take 100MHz extra when I can get it! :p

I've been running this for a while (no wipe from BBv.1, fyi)and it's going well for me. Does the fact that there is no native wireless tether mean that Google hasn't released that code yet? Since they announced it at the I/O, I expected to see it in a source build rom.

It was there in the 0.6.0 release but it wasn't working. Looks like the devs removed the option so now it doesn't even show. My guess is that the next time it appears in a Sapphire release...it will be fully functional ;)
