Im just wondering if this is possible.
I moved to the incredible, while my wife is happy with her Eris. I still have my old eris sitting around and wanted to try to root it, but wasnt sure if it was possible while its deactivated.
Ive rooted my Dinc, and have been messing around with custom ROMs, so the rooting process for the Eris seems simple in comparison and I figured why not.
My ultimate reason is that I conviced a friend of mine to buy his first smartphone and he got the Eris, but he isnt happy with it and has some issues with its responsiveness. He is a total noob and completely tech unsavvy, but I was thinking a rooted phone, with all the other crap stripped off, as vanilla as possible and as responsive as possible, could be exactly what he needs. I wanted to try it on my unactivated phone before I started mucking around with someone elses property, also I could show him an example of what he would get with root.
Any thoughts? Am I completely mad?
