Network Locked during update, big trouble!

Ok guys got a massive problem as I seem to of ruined my phone!

My phones rooted and used several ROMS, MoDaCo, HeroSense, Villain, was using Villain 5.3 and went on their OTA app to see if I could find the v10, I couldn't but tried updating the radio they have on there.

During the radio update the phone crashed, and I had no option but to remove battery, upon rebooting phone, I had no signal, the big sim card in centre of screen has a red padlock on it and says "Network Locked, Please contact customer control"

soo, I turned off phone, wiped, and restored back up, same problem.
turned off phone, wiped, and re-installed the update of villain 5.3 that was still on my sd card, same problem.

All this is leading me to think something I've done like when the phone crashed, my phone Signal received by Orange has alerted them to the rooted phone and ROMs and they've locked my number??

anyone any ideas?
Cheers :(

UPDATE: put my sim card in an old phone and it works, put another sim card in my phone and still getting "Network Locked: Please contact Customer Care."

To be honest, this is probably one of the better outcomes I've heard of when radio updates go wrong. I know that's not a helpful thing to say, but it could well have bricked the phone.

There have been problems with the new radios and orange. For the moment I'd try sticking with villain 5 and reflashing one of the old radios (manually). I'm not sure if any of the more recent custom ROMs work without the new radios you see.

Here are the old radios: http://android.modaco.com/content/h...oms-radios-in-update-zip-format-for-gsm-hero/

63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 is the most recent of the 1.5 radios.

I can't do anything though

My phone won't let me do anything on it, if I drag down the lock screen I just get a keypad with numbers saying "emergency close", can't use the top drag down box to change PC connection settings so can't put any new/old roms onto my SD card.

Tried several wipes/restoring backups/re-installations

Tried putting an old 1.5 orange ROM on aswell but i'm getting Customer ID error and asking me to use correct RUU but i've tried the original GSM ruu, and the Orange RUU

So likely to be ruined?

If you boot into recovery, the (second?) option is to enable-MS (mass storage), which lets you mount the card from there.

If you don't have the more recent recovery image with that option you might have to find another phone/camera/etc that takes microsd and mount that way. Or use the card reader on your computer, if you have one.

Don't panic... all is not lost. ;)

As you've been flashing third-party ROMs you must have a custom recovery image on the handset. Download and install the Android SDK, download your previous radio ROM in update.zip format, reboot the handset into the recovery menu by holding HOME while switching on and then "adb push update.zip /sdcard/update.zip." Finally install the update.zip from the recovery menu.

edit: the above is a last-resort option - Xyro's idea is much less hassle.

Yeah, I have no enable mass storage option on my system recovery, so I'll have to use another phone or camera.

Like I said though, tried re-installing the villain 6.2 rom which I've been using since it came out and is still on my SD card, and thats not worked, with full wipe etc.
So not sure whether another ROM will fix it either, just worried i've messed my phone up properly.

Just trying to reinstall the 6.2 rom one last time before I go to bed, if it doesnt work will have to wait until tomorrow

thanks for your help no doubt ill be back tomorrow with an update

Edit: Nevermind, re-read your post Xyro and think I get it, what your saying is my phones dead because of a updated radio which is causing some problems with Orange, and by reinstalling a newer ROM (such as 6.3) that alone won't fix it, I'll have to revert to 1.5 ROM with a 1.5 Radio to fix it?

Neither flashing a new ROM or restoring a nandroid backup affects which radio you're running, so those things wont fix it. The only way to sort this out is to flash the radio again.

Slug's method using the SDK should work no matter which version of the recovery menu you have, if you can't find anything else to use :)

EDIT: Yes, that's right. The radio is the important bit, and we know all the old 1.5 radios worked on orange.
