I'm at work so I'm not sure if this has been posted but figured I'd post for those curious -

I just received my Evo from Wirefly, and it seems like the new shipment is actually from a newer run. My battery cover has the date 2010/6/11. The new shipment should take care of all the people still waiting, and hopefully fixes the problems of the older versions.

nope, i don't think that's old enough. that's only a week after the first phones were released into the wild. a July date would be more likely to fix said issues.

i honestly wouldn't suggest that anyone go looking for a replacement until the Evo's are readily available at all retail chains.

Can you see if you see a drop in battery life when you hit 100%? I'm getting a new one also.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking thus I didn't jump to conclusions and assume everything's fixed. However considering the launch date phones have a date of late april or may, it's safe to assume the shipment isn't part of the launch shipment.

To restate, the newer shipments sprint.com and wirefly and whoever else is getting isn't just a few boxes they had stashed away somewhere like best buy has been getting, it's actually a later build.

As for HW version, its 3, and battery stays at 100% after unplugging. (I haven't installed the 1.47 software update yet)

Type "dmesg"
Hit Enter
Scroll down to Line 7, you will see either "Epson" and "Novatec"

How annoying. I can't get "|" to work in Terminal Emulator, so I used ConnectBot. I got dmesg working in Connect Bot and it also supports "|" but I can't seem to do "dmesg | more" so I think unless I reboot I have too much to scroll back through. I also couldn't do "dmesg | grep novatec" or similar, but I DID see something about novatec_pwr off. Mine is HW002 though so I dunno if I should have a novatec or epson.

The new build most likely will be dated 6/18 or later. May even have same hardware version for all we know. Have to wait until we start to see some more recent build dates. Soon I hope!

I just got a replacement phone today and it's a 002. It is put together MUCH better than my old 002 though.

I got an 0003 yesterday and the back cover is dated 10.06.12 a day after the OPs build date. It has an Epson screen and the battery drops to 93% after about 5-10 minutes right off the charger. Battery cover is the flat black and doesn't fit well. The speaker however is a little louder and the buttons on the bottom do not glow when the screen is off unlike my 0002 version.

I have an 003, ordered mine from sprint.com 3 days after launch, and got it 2 days later. I have decent light leakage, but not much screen separation. I've also come to suspect there is something underlyinly wrong with the phone, because when I first got it it wouldn't auto activate and sprint had to manually have me enter numbers in the phone. Now after this new update, the data services sometimes just stop working, or the phone doesn't take calls, even after I've done everything including a factory reset, as per sprint phone technician instructions. They told me to go to a store and get it replaced. Guess I'll wait till after to get it rooted.

Is there a newer version than 003? I can also agree with the above issue of the battery dropping to like 93 after 5mins.

Anyone's input on my situation would be awesome. Sorry for the slight derail.
