Root Restore bootloader

So....I rooted my Droid a few months ago and it's been working great. Then a day or two ago I loaded the new Kangerade ROM onto my phone. I'm not sure if it's the ROM or the restore ROM that the ROM Manager loads or what. All I know is I am screwed right now. First, my bootloader seems screwed up. Second, my data connection has been killed.

If I reboot the phone and try to bring up the bootloader it just gets stuck on the Motorola logo. No matter how long I wait the logo doesn't go away and the phone is totally locked up. Eventually I took out the battery and the phone booted up into the OS. I also tried connecting the phone to my computer and using adb to reboot into recovery mode and into the bootloader. It always freezes on the Motorola logo.

My 3G connection is gone now so I can't get any data, browse the internet, get text messages, etc. I have no idea how it did that, but I need my data back. There was some script called "god mode" that Kangerade includes that broke the data connection. It also broke everything that needs root permission.

So, how do I restore the bootloader on my phone? How do I undo "god mode" and get 3G back and root privileges back?

Please help.

I think you mean your recovery screen and not the bootloader. The recovery is what you get to by holding X while powering on the phone. The bootloader you get to by holding up on the dpad.

To get your recovery back go into rom manager and down at the bottom there is an option for flash alternate recovery. Do that then go back to the top and flash clockwork mod recovery again. You will have recovery back after that.

I cant help you with the godmode thing. I would suggest loading a different rom I guess

Tried that. There are two problems though: First, I've lost the ability for anything to run that requires root. I get some error message about not having permissions or something like that. Second, I've lot 3G so even if ROM Manager could still flash a recovery image it couldn't download it. Am I just totally screwed?

far from it. You are going to have to flash the SPRecovery sbf file in order to get recovery back. Detailed instructions can be found here

As far as downloading the files, just do it via the computer then drag them to your sdcard.

Thanks. I finally managed to get my phone back to normal. I had to use RSD Lite to restore a working 2.0.1, then applied the root update.zip file, then flashed me a shiny new ROM. Yay! Thanks for the info and help.

do you mean recovery? Cause you can flash the 2.0.1 sbf and get stock recovery back. You should not have changed your bootloader. I dont even know how you could
