I've been lucky thus far, over 100 apps installed and i've put the default apps through the ringer and not a single problem. I've had one or two market apps force close, but usually that's because i'm testing things and have 25 apps open at one time in the background. nothing native to the phone has broken for me or caused any WTF moments yet.

However a good (also power user) friend of mine has had some serious problems (we're thinking Weatherbug was the culprit FWIW) so I realize it varies from person to person and app to app.

I hate weatherbug with a passion. I've used it on the storm and pc and all it does is cause problems.

I had a G1 for just over a year before my Droid, so I am very familiar with Android. My first Droid was rebooting about 3-4 times a day so I exchanged it. My second one ran perfectly till yesterday and I had one reboot....that is out of 4 days of intense use. I think the occasional hang up or reboot (and I mean occasional=every couple weeks) is acceptable, but definitely not multiple times in a day.

other than some cruddy apps installed, zero problems.

Batter barely lasts an 8 hour day, but I've been working it very hard until today. it is almost 3 here today (unplugged at 6:00 am) and I'm at 50% (I turned the screen down, and have been nice to it in terms of gps and wifi today).

brilliant phone, maybe a little rough around the edges, but I almost prefer it that way. my wife's droid is also flawless, but it is set up in a very non-power user way (yet very powerful).

No major issues at all. I was concerned about the battery life, but now that I'm using it at a more normal pace (not the initial infatuation period), i'm actually quite impressed with the battery life.

The only minor issue I've had is the ringer/speaker sounds switching to earpieces sounds only. Still not sure exactly how to recreate this bug, but a number of people are having it and both moto and goog know about it.

I think it will be fixed in the Dec 11 update.

Yeah, the battery life could be better but give it a few weeks. When I first got my G1 I was very dissappointed with the battery life too... but I realized it was mostly because I had just gotten the phone and couldn't keep my hands off the thing. After a couple weeks I settled into a more 'normal' usage pattern and it would last me through the day without issues.

I use Weatherbug but I haven't noticed any problems. I've actually been impressed with what a cool app it is. I used to use Weather Channel but I think I like Weatherbug more. What kind of problems are people having with it?

For him, the entire OS of the phone seemed to...well, implode. Soon after installing it, certain apps wouldn't even open (including native apps, like market and camera), while others would. The entire OS was laggy and didn't respond to a lot of clicks.

We're not 100% sure it's tied to weatherbug, but based on people's reports on the forums, we're leaning that way like we've been drinking V8 in the 90's.

In my experience as a heavy PC user as well, the weatherbug app is generally poorly coded and very heavy (think norton antivirus) so if the same developers are on the phone version, I can only imagine it's not so great code-wise. Of course, individual mileage would vary - he could have one of the phones from the theorized "bad batch" or just have a lemon in general. But, FWIW, since uninstalling weatherbug (as well as a bunch of other apps, to be fair), he's been sailing pretty smooth.

So far I'm personally pretty happy with the weather channel widget - very small and simple and to the point. But I'm not a heavy user of the weather widgets, I just like to see what it's gonna be like outside tonight and tomorrow morning, very little beyond that.

[edited to expand on 3rd paragraph some]

Im still having typing issues on the virtual keyboard. It tends to place spaces instead of the keys that I hit. I know that I am hitting the keys because they highlight, but nothing shows up. Im tempted to bring it back because nobody else seems to have this problem. I do a lot of typing on it, so this is pretty important to me. I find myself having to back up constantly.

Smooth sailing, great web browser(posting on it right now) easily the best Android browser I've used. Phone is fast and responsive and has all these great things I keep discovering. Keyboard is akward and very tiring to type with for some reason though, and the d-pad is okay but I'm pretty impartial to its placement. No free yahoo/hotmail push though sucks.

I use the hell out of my phone. All day long. Messaging, internet, apps, maps etc.

My only problem:
- I had google navigation freeze the first day. I had to pull the battery. Hasn't happened again.
- I had one problem where I wanted to hang up a phone call, but I couldn't get the screen to turn back on. Battery pull fixed that. Hasn't happened again.
- The sms app force closed once. Hasn't happened since.

Other than that, my experience has been good. My battery is rock solid and lasts all day. GPS is quick and spot on. Messages arrive quickly.

Signed,
Happy Droid Owner.

I would check your settings because there are options to automatically insert spaces, autocorrect, etc.
