Hey guys. I am having issues sending picture messages to any iphone, tried 3 different iphones. My dinc says its sent but they don't receive it. Any one else experience this or have a fix? Greatly appreciate the response if you do or even.if you can do it succesfully. Thanks!

i've had the same issue, just yesterday. i tried to send my friend (iphone3gs) 4 different mms messages, and none went through, even though on my end it shows that it went out. any ideas?

okay, correction. i think mine is app related. i tried to (man, this is embarrassing) send my friend her horoscope from the horoscope widget yesterday, which offers the "share" option, and it went through handcent. but it never made it, and i tried 4 times. the app says it is sending it via mms. anyhow, when i just tried to send her a photo, it went through fine, and i can get one from her, too. so i think my problem is with the horoscope widget. anyone else agree?

also...shut up. ;-)

Are the iPhones in question upgraded to iOS 4?

My MMS quit working when I upgraded, along with all of my cellular data. I installed a third party APN to fix the cell data, but MMS is still gone.

Fortunately, I don't use MMS... just wondering if the target iPhones you're trying to send to are getting MMS from anyone else?

Thanks for the replies, guess im not alone. Here is some info i have so far, the iphones ARE OS4 but my problem started before that. Also i can send mms to my gf (vzw with dumb phone), can send to sprint and tmobile. Haven't tried ATT non iphone yet as i don't know anyone that would get ATT except for iphone. So it all works except iphone or maybe just ATT in general. Funny thing is the pic i sent to my gf with vzw, she forwarded to iphone and the iphone received it. Lastly i sent a photo i took with my kodak camera that was on my dinc and iphone received it. So to the above horoscope poster that was able to send, was this similar?

the iphone i am sending to is OS4. i can send photos, that works. i tried the horoscope again, still doesn't work. i guess it's sending it via mms because it is so large? it's just a lot of text. it has a link in the text. that's it. so maybe it goes mms to avoid being cut into pieces? am i even understanding this correctly? please do not throw organic matter, i'm trying to help!

i tried to forward the message that didn't go through yesterday, same result, did not go through. it appears it does on my end, but she never gets it. what are you guys trying to send that is not going? OP, are you trying to send photos on the phone or some other type of media?

I am trying to send pics from internet or taken with camera phone but failing. Only pics i can send is stand alone camera pic stored on my phone. Not sure about your text to mms thing but it sounds right about going to mms cause of the amount of text. Not sure tho

i have more research! i think my problem is with handcent. are you using handcent? when using handcent as the program to send the mms, i cannot send my friend (iphone) a photo via the camera (snap a photo, click on photo from camera app, click on share, choose handcent). however, i *can* send it to her using the htc message program. also, the horoscope app will send the mms of the horoscope via the htc message program (my friend got it), but not via handcent. so the problem, for me, is handcent.

the only thing i noticed in the settings for handcent is that under "send message settings", there is "maximum mms size", which is defaulted to 1m. the only higher setting is 1.2 m. but these messages are definitely not that big. so i'm not sure why, but for whatever reason, handcent won't send through those two apps (camera or horoscope widget). however, when i went to my gallery program, i can send a photo to her through that via handcent and she gets it.

NOTE: i have not tested this with a non iphone person.

so how are you trying to send and what program are you using?

okay, so now i have tested this with a non iphone person. handcent WILL send an mms (the horoscope and a photo taken through camera app) to a non iphone person and they get it. but it will not get through to the iphone person. so there it is. for whatever reason, handcent just does not seem to want to send mms to an iphone through those two apps. and that is all i know about that.

anyone else?

Hrump...Overlooking the H'scope part :p , seems any mms to my (obviously under edumacated) att friends tend to be hit and miss or at least delayed in receiving.
Ive just accepted it as fact.

it's not going to help me to plead that i'm using an app that my friend says she doesn't have to send her *her* horoscope...buying that? never mind.

the thing is, i can send photos from the gallery app to my friend's iphone, no problem. i have done this many times. she always gets them pretty quick. but if i *take* a photo, then try to send it while in the camera app, no go.

i'm trying chomp right now to see if the problem is specific to handcent for me. i'm thorough like that. ish.

i tested chomp, and aside from also really not liking it (i hate the bubble style, and it's not something you can change in chomp), it also will not send an mms through the camera app or "that other app". so basically, what i've learned today is that if i want to send an mms to an iphone user, just use the htc messaging program (or android, something basic). otherwise, it probably won't get through.

so that was fun. onward.

Have you tried different resolution and quality settings for the camera?

the iphone's have a size restriction when recieving pictures i believe. When i change from taking the picture with the 8 megapixel option to a lower setting and then send the picture the iphones seem to receive it. I think the resolution of the picture (even though it says compressing for mms) is still too high for their phones to recieve. That's just what I believe is happening. I could be wrong but when I change the resolution setting iphone users receive the picture...

guys, i was having the same problem... now, all you have to do its add a comment to the picture. iphone wont accept the picture unles you add a comment. :D

negative. i have added comments to the photos and the other's app's mms. for whatever reason, it seems the handcent and chomp don't want to send my mms to iphones. but when i use the native htc message app, it works. were you using handcent or chomp to send your messages? and all you had to do was add a comment? mine is not working that way. but thanks, anyway. maybe that will work for some people, like the OP, who seems to have a different problem, since no mms will go through regardless of app for the OP.

the problem with that is, both myself and the OP are able to send photos taken with the camera through the gallery app (if we go find a photo that is on the sd card, we can send it via mms and it goes to iphone users), but for whatever reason, it won't send them through the camera app (if you take a photo, select it while still in the camera app, and then try to share it). also, my horoscope app sends a large text message as an mms, there is no photo, and it's certainly not a large file. i still don't know what the problem is, but i have found that at least i can send things through the htc message app, and they go through to iphones. i just can't use my handcent or chomp to send mms to iphones. i have no idea why. also, the OP seems to have problems sending even through the htc app. not sure how to resolve it.

Ya I have tried the comment method, stock HTC app, chomp, very small images copied from the browser and even plain text mms' but i got nothing. I called VZW and they said there was no known issues which I think may be bs since I Googled this issue of dinc to iPhone mms and found quite a few people with issues. I'm about to just give up. The odd thing is pictures from my Kodak, stored on my dinc, which are the largest files I'm attempting to send go through just fine everytime. I'm officially lost

if this is still happening, why don't you try taking your phone to a verizon corporate store, while someone you know with an iphone stands by. tell them about the issue, show them what you are doing, and show them how no app will successfully send the mms to your iphone friend. make them try to make it work. if it doesn't, maybe they will come up with something. if nothing else, it will then be "a known issue." i'm kind of out of answers, but if you have the time and/or inclination, maybe this will at least push the problem forward for you. just an idea.
