Why and who cares (well anyone reading this post). Anywho I'm leaving because after having 4 EVO's and using ASTRO I find that it's much faster better for restoring my programs.

The down side is I have to store the backup files on my SD card, but the benefit is even if an app is removed from the market I still have it.

I would pay for ASTRO, it just pwns!

You could do the same thing with Titanium Backup. Won't you lose the ability to get alerts of new versions if you don't use Appbrain or is that actually a feature of the market in general?

Does Titanium keep the current versions of apps and just reinstall what you actually have or does it pull it from the market for you again?

I *really* don't want to ever "upgrade" my eStrongs software. A task manager with ads is a bit on the counterproductive side

I do both. Use Appbrain and backup my apps to the SD card, that is.

I use..

Android Market: For random updates I don't catch with my other App.
AppBrain: Filters pointless and useless apps. Plus it lets you search online (on your PC) and install all your apps on your phone (with their app) after selecting the phones you want.
aTrackDog: Tracks updates for apps. Even if they are not listed in the Market.
Sprite Mechanic: Backs up my Apps (including paid apps) and has a File Manager pre-installed.

No single app can do all that you want. Variety makes it funner to use your phone.
