Hello and thanks for your help.

I just bought a rooted phone today (N1) that is running on froyo 2.2 Build number: frf50

However, i cannot download any apps because it wants the previous owners gmail password. When i try to delete their account the phone says that the account is required by some applications and i must restore the phone to factory defaults.

My question is, if I do this will the phone no longer be 'rooted?' Or even worse, will I brick it? I dont know how to check if the rom are backed up or not...... can someone please help! Pretty much I would like to know if my phone will turn on again if i do this and if it does will it still be rooted?

Thanks!

Turn off the phone.
When turning it back on, hold the trackball and power button down for a few seconds, till the phone boots into Recovery.

I use RA Anon's recovery utility (other name for it is image amongst the mod community).

If the recovery utility is RA Anon's (it will state the name), boot the phone back up or turn it off. Either way, download a new Custom ROM from Modaco (as a starting point - and you may need the radio image as well), put it onto the SD Card, boot the phone again into Recovery.

Wipe all, flash the ROM zip file and bingo.....

There are other more detailed instructions on the forum, or this link (if you want to change the Recovery image to RA Anon's for example).

How To: Load a Custom ROM on the Nexus One (Updated 1.11.10) | TheUnlockr

Any problems, post again or PM me.
