EVO or Moment, my dilemma

Today I decided that I might return my EVO because I can't use it to its potential and I still irritated about having to pay for 4G and not have it available. Also, I can't use the hotspot because Sprint will charge me.

Ok, all this is my own :( damned fault, I'm a knucklehead--I know. But I was hit with the additional $10 charge while purchasing the phone, I didn't know about it so I paid it thinking that I'll be able to get out of it later, like I usually do. Not this time. The hotspot thing as well.

Well, I can't get Sprint to rescind the charge and before my 30 days runs out, I have to decide if I'm going to return it and exchange it for a Samsung Moment. The guy at the store thinks I'm nuts because he has a waiting list of clients wanting EVOs.

But it's the principle of the thing. I don't want to pay for something I can't use. It's like paying for a  loaded Corvette and driving it around town at 35mph--pointless, I'd take it to the desert and open it up!

 What would you do?

p.s. wife says that the goodies in the EVO are worth the extra charge.

Maybe if the Moment was close to the Evo in performance, but it's not. If you can trade by July 11th, the Intercept is suppose to come out on Sprint which is supposed to be an optimized version of the Moment, might be faster don't know. If not, it's worth it. There's nothing in competition to the Evo right now aside from a couple of other HTC devices.

$10/mo and getting charged for something that was advertised as feature (hotspot)... why doesn't that bother anyone?

I'm buying the Samsung Epic 4G coming out, I don't have 4g where I live, but I will pay the $10 cuz its still worth it.

If you want the moment for the EVO, my PM box is open, gl.

I second this lol. Ill even throw in $$$ lol.

Check out a video of mine =)

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiit, I'd buy a Moment and then trade the EVO with you just because I want one so badly. By the way, the $10 premium data fee is required but the hotspot ability $39.99 is optional.

I tested out the Moment and did not like it at all, especially how the keyboard is laid out. And after using the Evo, it blows the Moment out the water. It will be very hard to go from the Evo to the Moment. At least for me it would.

If the moments defense, the keyboard does take some getting used to, but once you do it fliiiieeees. I recently hit 56.4 wpm 100% accurate... not bad for two thumbs and a tiny keyboard.

But as for everything else, evo wins.

I was with you regarding the $10 fee, but because we get a 23% discount on Sprint's plans we went ahead and got the EVOs. I got a Hero for my mom. It is a very nice phone, but it does not compare to the EVO. I believe the Moment is in the same category as the Hero.

Also, there is a referral plan discount that anyone can get. Check the Sprint forum on androidforums someone posted there on how to get the discount. I believe it's 17%. That should cover your $10 fee and more.

I get 25% discount from my employer w/ Sprint. That pretty much offsets a bunch of things for me. Which is why the $10 fee means practically nothing to me but even if I didn't have the discount I would most likely still be willing to pay it. $10 isn't gonna kill me monthly.
