Why you won't exchange your Inc to get an X

I am curious to know why current Incredible owners won't exchange or simply buy a Droid X to replace their Incs.
In my case.. after trying the dummy model in the store.. I wasn't too impressed. I did not quite like the design on the back.. and I am not too thrilled about the hard plastic buttons on the front. The capacitor type is much better in my opinion. The X seemed too big.. but was still manageable.. and it's heavier than the Inc. Screen is NOT going to be as pretty as the AMOLED on the inc.. and also Sense is much better than MOTOblur.

What are your opinions on why you won't jump the ship?

I just think that the incredible is the perfect size for a phone, the X is a little bit too big.
It's made by Motorola
AMOLED screen > pretty much any other screen out there right now
I have no problems with my Incredible, why trade it up for something only a little bit better, I think I'll wait a year before I upgrade to something MUCH MUCH better.

Because quitters never win and winners never quit! LOL

Seriously though, I ordered the DINC because that is the phone that I liked. I was eligable to upgrade in March and didn't because there was nothing on the market that I liked enough at the time. Fell in love with the DINC in June, so that's what I ordered.

I have owned Moto phones in the past and was never impressed. I know 3 people with Moto Droid's that have had crazy problems.

And frankly, I don't like the look/feel of it. I think the DINC looks 10x better.

Besides, I don't understand everyone jumping ship for a phone that they hadn't even seen yet. We JUST got reviews of it this week and yet people were cancelling their order the second it was announced. And I will be LMAO when the phone actually is released and has just as many "problems" as the DINC, if not more.

Could I get the X on the 15th? Sure. But I would rather wait the extra couple days (my est. ship is 7/16, probably will arrive 7/19) to get a phone that I will be happy with for the next 1-2 years.

Motorola seems to have build a good reputation when it comes to phone.. aren't you impressed with their double antenna feature that'll probably be better when it comes to reception?

What I WAS impressed with is their ad about the double antenna and the slap in the face to Apple. I actually laughed for a full 5 minutes when I saw that! :D

Thats exactly my take too. The X's finish is really no match for the Inc's super sleek black finish. I was really looking forward to trade my Droid Inc for the X (just because I am anal about having the best phone without having to pay a lot more than what I already had).. and also since I was/am within my 30-day return period.. but after playing with the toy X.. I seriously abandoned that idea.. Droid X is nice.. but not that nice.

Never mind!!

i read what you said.. well, if moderators want to delete the thread.. by all means.. I am not too passionate about my posts.. Several threads seem to compare the X to the Inc.. but I wasn't sure how many are really NOT going to jump the ship.. and hence the thread.. Call me insecure.. but I just wanted to make sure there will be enough Inc users in this community who haven't abandoned the ship :).

No Pal!!
Totally misread your post!!
At first it looked like another "hey get rid of your Inc for the X" thread!!

My bad!!

P.S. I'm staying put!!

How can you say no brainer? The X definitely has better hardware..(doesn't it?).. better processor, double antenna, better battery. gorilla glass (which I don't think the Inc does)..

Eh. Better processor doesn't mean much. The jump is minimal and reports from users and professional reviews note it's slower than the Incredible. However, it doesn't make a difference for most users.

Better battery? That's not a real pro. You can purchase a $15 1500 MAH battery and get easily over a day with medium use. I get fantastic battery life.

The X is just too big and provides nothing more than what the Incredible can - especially with coming update(s).

I hear ya!.. I already bought 2 1500 batteries + battery wall charger from ebay for 14 bucks.. that'll help me have enough juice all the time. I returned my 2150 battery back to verizon..

i must have missed this, please elaborate lol already sounds funny before you even explain it

Here's the article about it which also shows the ad:

"And most importantly, it comes with a double antenna design. The kind that allows you to hold the phone any way you like and use it just about anywhere to make crystal clear calls."

Because my DInc is the best phone I have ever owned. Among my friends I have owned more than enough new phones. Not compared to some here however. As a technology junkie who constantly drools after the next best thing, I have not been even slightly tempted by the X, EVO, Iphone, or any other new fangled supposed best phone ever coming out. That is my two cents.

I think this article disagrees and they've actually seen all the screens in action. It's pretty clear to me that they think the droid x has the better screen. In fact, aside from contrast ratio (which is light years better on the incredible), the incredible came in dead last in every category.

I'm not saying the incredible doesn't have its advantages, but a better screen doesn't seem to be one of them.

To be honest, I have been doing a lot of laughing lately at Apple's expense.

Maybe they should have thought about doing this before releasing the phone?

And my favorite... their first lawsuit!

Okay, I am being mean now. I just hate Apple so much.

I kind of agree and disagree.. About the inc screen the article says..
"AMOLED could one day replace LCD because it offers superior contrast, but it's still expensive to manufacture and is not nearly as bright as LCDs."

the expensive to manufacture is not a problem that we need to worry about if we already own a Dinc. The not nearly as bright comment is ONLY applicable in daylight... everywhere else the AMOLED is simply unbeatable. Also, the AMOLED screens consume much less power than the LCDs.
