ok so I made that thread yesterday about getting the Droid X seeing if I was eligible for upgrading. (I'm gonna do everything in my will to get a new Android lol :D) But the Incredible has come across as another decision for me.. :/ I love the big screen and faster processor on the Droid X but I love the AMOLED and the HTC Sense on the Incredible. :( Oh and does the Incredible have a Multi-touch keyboard? Which phone do you guys like better?

Thanks

I have the Incredible right now, but I found someone to trade me the X when it comes out(I'm giving him an extra $75 on top of the phone). For me the X is the better phone, but it's not for everyone, I really like the Inc, but the bigger screen & Motorola build quality is really got me wanting the X. I like Sense, but not so much that I won't get a phone without it, the new Motorola skin(I'm not calling it blur) looks pretty good, with some great looking widgets.

So, you have to decide what is important to you, because they are two very different phones.

Also, you can install the multi-touch keyboard on the Inc.

I had ordered the Incredible and cancelled it to get the Droid X. Along with the bigger display, the Droid X will also have the Swype keyboard. I have never used Swype because I don't currently own an Android phone but from what I read it makes texting very fast. Also, the big advantage of the Droid X for me is call quality. I have read that is one of the big issues with the Incredible and causes the most complaints. Everyone who has reviewed the Droid X for call quality says it is rock solid.

Also, if you absolutely must have a AMOLED display, the Samsung Fascinate will come with the 4" Super AMOLED. There has not been a date set for the release of the Fascinate but the speculation is mid-August. The Samsung Fascinate has its own forum so you can check the details there.

I hope this helps. :)

You.can get swype on the incredible and there's a ota coming to improve call.quality bring 720p and a wifi hotspur very soon. Also the person who said this update was coming even before it was confirmed by a beta tester said htc will be the first with froyo so the incredible may have froyo first. Honestly the only solid train to get the x is the way stronger gpu... Even that point may be moot now that qualcom released its drivers open source. But that's why im switching. Itsfree I wouldn't do it if it wasn't my dads trading me.

Not ganna lie having second thoughts though sense is amazing the inc is rooted n this new blurs ugly

my thoughts exactly!!! I dont have any clue which phone to go with. Sense is just amazing looking on that sexy Inc screen and the new blur or w.e you wanna call it really isnt doing it for me... the widgets are just so boring and bland.

I also like to txt with 1 hand and im not sure with the size of the screen on the X that ill be able to hold the thing and txt w. the same hand.

AHHH WHAT TO DO?????

Ya, im still trying to decide on a similar situation as yourself. But the phones im contemplating over on is the X and the Evo. Many things sway me back and forth on both phones but the UI of the X has been turning me off as I watch more videos. The UI in my opinion is very bland and the widgets are just TOO simple. I love simplicity but all the widgets really are is a box with a tinge of color. BUT i love how you can resize the widgets, that is a beautiful thing as I find myself trashing widgets away and setting them up all over again on my G1.

I don't own an Android yet. I'm still on AT&T with the iPhone but plan on getting the DX on the 15th. I like the larger screen, Motorola is a quality brand, and the reviews I'm seeing really looks spectacular!!

Originally I was going to go for the Incredible but after seeing the X, this phone seems more exciting to me personally. I figure if I don't like the DX, I'll see if I can trade it in for the Incredible since I have 30 days to trade and it would take about that long to get my hands on an Incredible anyway

EX - Droid Incredible user here...
There were several factors that left me unhappy w/ Dinc which ended in me returning the Incredible.

MY Droid Incredible Issues:
Signal Strength ; or lack of. I never saw full signal or even 3 bars. Phone also kept jumping back & forth to 1x etc. Speakerphone was also not loud enough in vehicle.
Battery Life: Even with all my tweaking, the Dinc battery just fell short. REALLY short. Extnd Battery was a waste of $$$. Snapdragron chip 65nM.
Camera - As soon as I took a picture, the screen froze, and didn't not save the pic. Had to hit home button, & kill in task/app killer EVERY time. Very big problem since I am a father of two sons. I use my smartphone to capture many moments on the go. This issue was completely unacceptable.
I was also having a SMS glitch on the Dinc. As I was typing an SMS, randomly, the operating system was backing me out of the txt entry field.
The Droid Incredible is beautiful eye candy as a device...but after almost a month with it I knew FoR SURE...there was NO way I was willing to spend the next one or two years with Dinc. Let alone another day.

My hopes of a keeper have been renewed with the DX.
The Texas Instruments Processor is 45 nM...that alone should help out w/power consumption.
The DX's camera has a mechanical shutter.
I'm not going to cover all the Droid X's selling points & advantages.

For whoever hasn't read the phandroid.com review of the DX along with watching the videos associated with it...
The review in its entirety IS A MUST!!!
DEFINITELY watch the software review video.
Hats off to Rob Jackson for the in depth & realistic review.

Almost switched to an Incredible. I like the DI for Sense, the speed, the AMOLED screen, optical trackball and ease of copy/paste. But not too crazy about the reception issues, battery life and build quality.

The build quality, reception, and that oh so sweet screen has me going with the X. I currently have a Droid and have had several Moto phones in the past. Never had an issue with one of them.

Ahhh the StarTAC days!
Glad to see excellent build quality & strength, as well as reception from motorola in the current android world.
