On my 3rd Evo... need another replacement.

The process to get an evo that is completely fine has been difficult. I had pixel issues, then screen separation issues, and now on a perfectly working Evo... I have issues not being able to connect to a 4g network though my other two had easily connected to 4g. Radio Shack has been helpful and thankful for their help but now since its day 30, I have to figure out what to do.

Anyone think I should do Sprint's Asurion (insurance plan)?

I believe that's through HTC specifically. All I know is that I have to call some radio shack representative and for them to talk to my local radio shack in figuring something out. I hope something works out.

Ahhh, I see. I have never had a manufacturer's warranty issue, so I wasn't sure how it works. All my claims come from my 12 year old daughter dropping her phones...I always have to deal with Asurion...lol...:D

How is Asurion? Is it pretty painless? I don't know what is the best option. Its just stupid that I would have to think of extended warranty just simply because all the phones I had had issues.

But yeah not rooted so will have to figure it out.

Asurion was OK to deal with. I filed the claims online and the replacement phones arrived within a day or two. The replacement phones come with an envelope to put your broken phone in and drop it in the USPS mail.

It took forever for them to receive the second phone I sent back using USPS, so if there is a next time, I will send the phone back via FedEx ground. It is worth the extra of couple dollars for me to do that than the hassle of them not getting the phone back. If they don't receive the phone back within a certain amount of time they start calling you.

USPS seems to be crappy, so FedEX, DHL, UPS, or whoever, may be a better way of sending your broken phone back.

So I got my evo replaced because the screen was separated and light leakage was an issue. The new evo is version 3 and the build quality is perfect. The problem is I notice some lag, and the phone will get hung up and freeze while paying sling box or pandora. It also seems slow at responding to swype from time to time. Just venting the thirty days is up tomorrow

Mbell75 you have got to be kidding, coming on a forum and start making assumptions about people lying. I have a life, I don't go on forums being a lame troll, people need a life if they do that. I do understand there are trolls around but I'm not. I love the Evo 4g, just waiting on one that actually works!

I had 2 Evos and I'm on my 3rd. I've gotten the Evo since launch and Radio Shack had to call and wait on getting an evo sent over to the store. It took 2 weeks for the 1st replacement, and after a week with that phone I needed them to replace that replacement phone which came a couple days after. And now its at the end of my 30 days. After 1 day of having 4g issues, I was told by the sprint technician that I should get a replacement.

Does your 4g work? I notice some lag but pretty good but just my 4g doesn't work.

1. Have you had any problems with email or any other type of app that uses data?

2. Turn of the phone and do a battery pull. Turn off the mobile network and turn 4g only and see if it connects.

3. Have you updated to the new PRL?

4. Call tech support and have the provision the phone again..

Ok, well since no one in the US can seem to find them, mind telling us the city and state you are finding an endless supply please?

Yeah I did all that yesterday and still nothing. Very disappointed

I am in Palatine, IL and you can ask the Radio Shack about their supply. I don't get them, they do.

I think some of you guys need to take a breath and not be so quick to jump on people. I needed a replacement as mine had a light leakage issue and some wifi probs. I had to jump thru hoops as both the store and Sprint said they were out of them. It took a few days but I called Sprint back Monday morning at 6:30 and low and behold they said 938 had just arrived even though the night before they said there were none. 3 days later I have the new one in hand.

Asurion is great for when you are out of manufacturers warranty or your phone breaks for a reason not related to defects.

But the phone is only 30 days old. Go to a Sprint store. They will service your phone and or swap it out for you.

Personally I look for third party repair centers. They can't repair phones, so if there is an issue they just order a replacement.
