I still have stock epe54b and I'm pretty android savvy only problem is i don't have a home computer. I was wondering if someone could post a link that allowed the 2.2 package to be downloaded directly to the nexus card and then unboxed from there. All of the links so far allow only for computer download and then USB transfer... Help please

I downloaded directly from my phone last time, renamed it to 'update.zip' and moved it to the root of the SD card, all without problems. I don't think there's such thing as links only for computer download and USB transfer

Bolded your problem.

Download DolphinBrowser from the Market. Use that. It'll download to sd://download

Move it to the core and rename it Update just like you did before.

It'll work that way.

Yep. Stock browser does that.

Use that other browser (Dolphin), download it using your computer, or use "Down Droid" from the market.

Using the stock browser I've downloaded straight to the phone every time, with the phone saving the file in the "download" directory despite being a zip file. I've got Astro file manager installed, perhaps that's registering that it can handle zip files so the browser downloads it?

If you don't want to use a different browser you can get "downdroid" and paste the URL of the file you want to download into it and it will grab the file no matter what it is and put it in the "dd" folder.

Installing astro file manager should allow you to download any files using the stock browser. You don't need to change any settings or anything.
