Help How to download attachments in Gmail App?

Please tell me with all the customization Android allows Google didn't create a Gmail App that makes it impossible to save attachments to your SD card/internal memory. I have tried searching around here and it seems the EVO folks are stuck as well. Would Google really stop us from doing something so essential?

And I know you can in HTC Mail, but I have notification issues with HTC Mail that I can't deal with (like the notification sound continuing perpetually when a new email arrives).

Not with 2.1, but download Blackmoon AttachSave and problem solved. There's a free version.

I set up a bookmark link to gmail and just do it through the browser.

Why can't you do it through the app, no idea.

Awesome, thanks. Works like a charm. If I were to make a complaint, it'd be the generic file naming ("attachment-1"), but beggars can't be choosers.

Definitely disappointed in Google for not including this feature by default. The first thing I find inexcusable in Android.

I did wonder the same thing , but when i go to adobe pdf files , all my attachments are there , it seemed to download them automatically , maybe why there is no download button , just a preview button
