First, I am definitely a power user (tons of email, internet, texting, reading etc) so I know battery life might be harsh due to Android & EVO's heavy OS and apps and widgets (though even coming from a Treo 700wx, I didn't think this harsh)... yet I don't get a full days charge starting 7:30 I usually get the typical overnight charge dip from 100 to 90 in no time. I have not tried the on/off orange/green light battery calibration method YET (no time).
No wifi, location (though some GPS), 4g, app killers etc.
Just like many here I would like to not have to worry about this issue again (an OTA update/fix from Sprint/HTC would be optimal), and have tried almost every tip out there, to mostly poor results (maybe due to my usage). any thing I am missing?
A few battery (newbish) questions...
1) Since the update, I have been unable to shut off GoogleTalk and have it stay off. Granted, I use Google (gmail etc.) all the time, but it is not necessary for syncing mail.... what gives?
2) With the GSM (auto PRL) > CDMA (auto PRL) fix...
It stays CDMA auto (PRL) on the initial screen after using "Network" app, but after I go to Menu>Select Radio Band> Force Close> Phone info... it always remains GSM auto (PRL) and have to change it, but still doesn't stick....?
3) Google Voice is also always relogging on. QIk too.
4) Still torn about an App Killer... never used one... but with so many apps just seemingly blabbering, how could they not be suckin' juice from my Evo?
5) Shouldn't we be able to use all of the capabilities of our phones? I mean yeah if I drive a Ferrari 100mph, I don't expect good gas mileage, but If I want I can pay for more gas, and use all the capabilities of my super-duper car, I can!!!! ... with battery life we are tied down. Hopefully the battery tech will catch up or there will be a fix from sprint/htc or maybe Froyo will remedy this.
