Not very impressed by invisibleSHIELD

Just tried to install my full body invisibleSHIELD glove...I can't say I'm very impressed. The screen piece did not go well at all...and has been removed and discarded. Every other piece ended up being either 2-3mm too long or too short. This was fairly easy to overcome with the side pieces...but the screen piece was slightly too large as well, and seeing as the glass is just barely sunk beneath the rest of the casing, it was obvious how bad the fit was.

I thought Verizon had a scratch guard film that fit the Droid, does anyone know if it's as good? If so, will they install? I don't want to wait another week for a screen piece from Zagg...especially when I know the install won't go well.

I returned my vzw screen protectors today, they don't cover the bottom buttons (back, menu, home, search) and I've been told by quite a few people they degrade the sensitivity of the touch. But I'm hearing conflicting info on others like zagg that do that too, so now I'm not sure which I'll get.

I bought my unit at Best Buy along with the screen procetor. BB install the shield, as my hands aren't too steady. It had several wrinkles that the girl said shoud go away after 24-48 hours. They did not. Took it back and she tried again but failed. A second sales person tried with two more packages and although it look better I am not the least bit satisfied. I hear there is another type the goes over the entire phone in two peices. Anyone know the name of the product and if it would be worth it? It also comes with a "lifetime" warranty.

I got Ghost Armor done on mine, not sure where all they're located, I know they're here in the Phoenix area, a couple at Best Buy's.

Ghost Armor | cases, screen-protectors, shields, skins, covers, armor

Mine was a custom fit, as the kit wasn't available and I just wanted the screen done. I'm 100% happy with it. I've had it on my iTouch as well.

Edit: Does help that it was professionally installed.

Installing the ZAGG Invisible screen is really a tough one.... Good thing I have a steady hand and I took time to install it...

The first time I tried it (Moto Q), it was awfull that I have sent if for replacement after a week. The second try was perfect, since I already know what to do and what to expect...

I got a 3M shield for mine from eBay/clearfreak.com and it is great. Same material as a Zagg and same installation process, but if you make sure to wash your hands really good and have either a little spray bottle or a bowl of warm water all will go well. I know it is a tough job to get them on right, but just relax and take your time. As long as it is plenty wet you can get it in place properly and then use the squeegee or a credit card to get out the excess water. Give it a good 24-48 hours and it will cure just fine and look great.

I have those as well. They also aren't resistant to fingerprints. If I wanted fingerprints on my screen, I wouldn't have gotten screen protectors. Looks like I will be buying a different set that is resistant to fingerprints.

I had both invisible shield and phantom skins on my phones in the past.

I like the invisivble shield better as it was easier to install than Phantom skins. The phantom skins can actually rip if you aren't careful while the Zagg stuff is very very tough. I had the InvisibleShield on my LG Voyager for over a year and the phone still looks brand new, as well as the shield. Very durable stuff.

I haven't tried Ghost Armor yet, maybe I will give that a try.

Finger print resistant is an interesting term. Its not like your finger prints are going to break your screen. It just depends how oily your fingers are. I like ghost armor, its nicer than zagg. Google it and check ouy there website

but I only want something on the screen, not something on the phone. I have the screen protector on my IPod Touch for more than 6 months and have never had to clean the screen because of my fingerprint. I've had to do it with my DROID twice since putting the screen protector on yesterday.

I'm not sure how you can mess up the installation of a zagg protector??

You spray both sides with the stuff they provide, and slide it into place. With the use of the spray, you get plenty of attempts at getting it right.

How do you get that wrong?

Did you not read at all or did you just get a kick out of being a jackass? Pieces too large for the device aren't going to go on well. As I said it wasn't a problem for the pieces that went around the edges because I could cut off excess length, or ignore a lack of. The display piece stretched from the very edge of the top (going over the hole for the internal speaker just fine), to going up and over the edge at the bottom of the screen.

It would have been nice as well for them to even give me a spray bottle with their installation solution. Instead, I got a "pouch" with a sponge soaked in it, that wasn't even sealed...so it leaked and completely soaked both my instructions and microfiber cloth. That's not exactly a quality product.

Maybe you got a bad one then, I've personally never had an issue with Zagg. I'd send them an email letting them know your issues, and they are very, very quick with returns and making things right. As for the solution, it's mainly just water as they state in their FAQ page. So if at first you dont get it right, you can definitely try again with water. I would definitely let them know about the length issue though, if you still don't feel like a replacement is what you want, ask for a refund, and they will accommodate you.

I'm sure they'll say that the length issue is caused by stretching...but I'm not sure how I could have avoided that when it was probably caused by using the squeegee. I'm definitely sure a spray bottle would have been much nicer than the sponge I had to use.

It seems to me though that once you get an air bubble in it, it's not coming out. My first attempt was on the battery cover. Obviously, as my first attempt, it was bad. I took it off after I finished the rest and retried, overall it is better but the big bubbles are still there, like the bubble caused the film to stretch.

Verizon's screen protectors are crap.

I had an invisible shield on but I took it off. I got a Phantom Skinz its really nice. Smooth and glossy not orange peely like Zaggs. Much cheaper too. $10 for 2, free shipping from phantom skinz site. Came in like 3 days.

If you've seen that video, you really don't need a screen protector. I put one one just soley for the fact it lessens the oily smudges from your fingers. And personally I really didn't like the super slick, somewhat slimey feel that the screen has.

note: make sure you keep that lint free cloth that came with your invisisble shield. Phantom Skinz does not come with one.

Not if you're careful. I've installed a couple before, but this time I left it up to a girl at Best Buy. She accidentally got a piece of dirt in it after she was done. She simply lifted the edge, sprayed solution, got the dirt out and laid it back down.
I love Zagg. So durable. I'm not noticing this drag you guys are complaining of.

PhantomSkinz take about 2x the time to install but are infinitely BETTER than basically any other protector out there. My Droid screen can now stay flawless and look like the day it was purchased.

On a side-not, has anybody noticed how super scratch resistant the DROID screen is and also how easy it is to clean of dust, prints, and nasty facial oils with a good microfiber cloth?
