sprint plan confusion

hi there, i am new to this forum.

hoping someone can help me understand the most economical way to upgrade my phones and plans. i have 2 older phones and a Free and Clear Family 500 plan ($45) plus Free and Clear Add a phone ($20). i have no data service. we want to upgrade to 2 EVOs.

is it even possible that i keep my old plans and add a data plan to it? and would i even want to do this? or just go with an Everything Data Family? at least i think that's the most economical plan for a 2 phone family.

and i've been reading about people getting the mandatory $10 4G fee waived or other plan discounts. i am assuming you have to buy your phone through sprint directly to get these fees waived? are the reps at best buy or radio shack authorized to give discounts? if i buy my phone from a 3rd party, can i then go back to sprint and get these discounts?

suggestions? this is so confusing.

TIA!

On all of my family's accounts and lines I was not able to get $10 fee wavied. ( they are all happy to still have unlimited internert ). Unlike att and soon verizon

I like best buy instant rebate and they were all out the door fast..

I would switch to the everything data family and see if your work gets a discount with sprint..

the current plan you have will not work with any smart phones. the Everything unlimited, Everything Unlimited Family, Everything Data, or Everything Data Family plans are required. The $10 fee for the Evo is required as well.

Last smartphone the plan will work with is the Touch Pro 2 if you get the right rep. You will have to change to an Everything plan to upgrade to anything else. Best offers I am hearing is 70.00 credit to upgrade and some have received an additional 45.00 credit to offset the first months bill. Also some have receied 10 - 20 off a month for 2 years. It all depends what rep you get and how well you talk on the phone.
