Help Strange Battery Draining (Yes, I searched)

First off let me say that I've looked around and can't find specifically the same thing that's happening to my phone. Maybe I'm not looking specifically enough...

So I changed some settings recently to help with my battery life though tips I found on here, such as setting my syncs to up to the following:
Facebook: Update once a day
Sync live feed is OFF
Sync contacts is ON

Google: Sync Calendar is ON
Contacts is OFF
Gmail in ON

News: Sync is set to MANUAL

Stocks is OFF

Weather is EVERY 3 HOURS

Tried a little experiment last night. Charged my phone through USB to 100%, then disconnected and let it sit overnight so I could see how much juice it used while idle. I used my Power Control widget to turn everything (WiFi, Sync, etc.) off before going to bed. Woke up 6 hours later and my battery was surprisingly down to 39%.

I used ShootMe to take some screen shots of what the Spare Parts app showed me:

I don't know what that "0" is in the above picture (or that UID 10006 for that matter), in fact, I don't even know what blue vs red bars mean. I tried clicking on the "0" bar, and I get a this FC message:

"com.android.settings" doesn't yield any search results on Android Forums. I'm going to do some more research. I didn't see anything about this in the official battery thread either, but I'ma keep looking. Any insight would be helpful.

Oh, and FWIW I haven't updated my software yet. Waiting for the phone to prompt me to do so rather than looking for the update myself. Not totally convinced I'm not going to end up with a shiny new brick.

The new and improved update is out and should not brick your phone. Try the update its nice.

Have you tried a soft reboot of the phone? Just turning it off completely and turning it back on? Did you install apps then this issue started or did it start from the beginning?

DLing update now. Thanks for the confidence boost.

Me thinks the drainage was from time searching for a signal. I swear sometimes I feel like my house was built with radiation-proof walls from such poor service we get in here. My Evo hasn't been nearly as bad w/ dropped calls as my Samsung Alias before it was, so maybe it was just in a bad spot.

Still doesn't explain what that "0" in Spare Parts is, or why I get the weird FC back to the main menu when I try to click into it.

You might benefit from the GSM-CDMA PRL trick.
However "0" I believe is the .acore process, which handles data to and from, among other things, People. Facebook syncing was causing instances of runaway data usage. I bet if you checked the .acore data usage it would be heavy.

The update supposedly addresses this, so you should not have the problem fter update.

Phew! 91% seems huge. I am having trouble with my battery too and did the GSM/CDMA URL trick when I got my phone 2 days ago. But the percentage still show up between 10-30%. Is this normal? I thought after doing the GSM/CDMA "Time without a signal" should show as 0? (provided you have signal all the time). Does soft restarting the phone reset it back to GSM so we have to do the GSM/CDMA trick every time we restart the phone? Any thoughts?

Yes, you need to do it each time you restart the phone.

Well currently im at 89% with 13 hours clocked. I'm the one who started sd card reformat thread to fix the fast battery drain from 100% thread however that did not work very well. I've been constantly testing out different ways of saving that drain of 10-15% in a matter of minutes and may have found a solution however i'll need to keep testing it. So far i've tested it 3 times when it hits 100%, no drop so far. I'm going to test it out by charging it overnight and see what happens in the morning. I'll keep you updated.

I am sorry I lost you there. So what's the solution you are talking about? Formatting the SD card or is it something else?
