picked up Droid yesterday, might get X...question

I love the Motorola Droid being that I had the dumb iPhone 4 before. I really like the X. If I have 30 days to exchange my phone for a new one is there a restocking fee also?

Yes, unless you left it in the box unopened or you can con a rep or phone CSR to reverse the charge.

Since I bought the Droid in-store I had to go with the $100 rebate deal....so I shouldn't send in the rebate or I should? I might as well since if I get the X they will just void it wouldn't they? I wonder if the X will have a rebate though.

I don't think the rebate gets processed until the 30-day worry free period is over. Buying the phone in a VZW store will cost $299 and you leave with a $100 mail in rebate form. On line eliminates the MIR and they provide free shipping most of the time. BestBuy will reduce the price to $199 which avoids the MIR all together.

actually its not a lie i had this happen once before where i sent in the rebate and wanted to return the phone and the rep told me i was unable to return the phone

Then, the rep lied to you.
"If you return a wireless device without a UPC on the box, the amount of the refund will be reduced by the amount of any mail?in rebate that was available for the wireless device at the time of purchase. Purchases made by cash or check, credit card or gift card will be refunded by check, credit card or gift card, respectively."
