Hi Guys,

Good Evening from a Very Wet London Tarn. :)
Well I have been using my Fantastic new Hero for a day now
and I would like to Pick your Brains please if you don't mind.
1) Regarding the Texting (SMS) Programme that comes installed on the Hero,
I have not been able to locate the standard Folders that come with
all other phones I have ever owned, Inbox, Outbox, Sent, Drafts.
does the Hero have these and if so where are they located?
2)On the Home page where the Weather Symbol is shown my location
is nearly 3 Miles from where I live even when I was on my way to work
and when I got to the West End of London, it had changed to a city
I have never heard of (Germany maybe?) and Partly Sunny. Nah.
Why do you think this is Guys, not very good from Google I think.
3) I have been looking at the Market, wow its Fantastic IMHO
what in your opinions is the best Battery App on the market?
I put in Battery in the search box and it came back with a Shed Load.
Well I know there are other things but with my Crap Memory I have
forgotten at the moment.

Peace,
Andrew.

1. There aren't folders in the messaging app, you get a list of names of people you've messaged, and then a thread between you and that person. If you want a prettier view, download chomp sms from the market, you get the iphone chat style bubbles. (but make sure to disable the notifications in the htc messaging app or you're get 2)

2. You can set your own location on the phone which will work, I believe, for the clock and weather apps:

Hit the clock and you should get the option to add a city. I'm not sure if it works for smaller areas EG villages but give it a try.

3. What do you mean by battery apps? I use a battery widget for my homescreen, it gives battery power in %.

Hope that helps! Enjoy your Hero!

Thanks Mate, I will need to understand the different working of the Messaging App compared to what I have been used to using all these
years. :)

I will try your suggestion with the clock later, BTW I dont live in a small Village but in London and I find it weird that the app cant locate between
locations 2 to 3 miles apart you know.

Yes I am talking about a Battery Widget to check on the Battery Strength but there seem to be many in the Market so I would like to know what is considered to be good, sort of like sorting the Wheat from the Chaff
if you know what I mean?

Peace,
Andrew.

Touch the location part of the weather widget then press + to add your location.

Press menu, settings, about phone, status, for a better battery indicator. Does the job for me without downloading another app

I use chompSMS for messaging, set notification sounds for different people etc. If you use it remember to turn off the HTC notifications or you get notified twice for each alert.

Enjoy.

Regarding your location problem have you tried enabling GPS on your phone? Menu->Settings->Location->Enable GPS satellites. It uses the battery more but i think that should be more accurate than just using wifi or the mobile internet to locate where you are.

My first post :D hope I was helpful!
